Power suits , anyone?
Practical, Sleek, Effective, Qualitatively superior to any of our competitor peers. Come on, its Japanese Technology....
Powered exoskeleton/suit/armor is more feasible compared to a 50-ft. tall Gundam
You simply don't get what I said. Twenty years Japan had cool robots, and you had a great plan; Ten years still cool robots and great plans; Now still cool robots and great plans. But the reality is the total revenue of your robot industry is less than the revenue of a small iRobot device. That is the problem of whole Japan industries, but no Japanese are seriously thinking about at all. Robot industry is one solid proof of what's the problem with Japan and why Japan will fail because Japanese only live in their own world and think that they have cool technology and can beat others. But the reality is that almost the whole world except ASEAN do not buy Japanese ways.
Your Abe just wants to initiate a cold war to solve the problem simply because the end of cold war makes east Asia too peaceful and this is bad for Japan. Yes. The end of cold war and the fall of Japan are not coincidental. Japan simply does not know how to compete in peaceful time when price and quality, not politics determines the business.
I can see its practical uses in the following sectors:
- Construction and Carpentry
- Port Workers
- Mining Engineering
- Highway Construction
- Nursing and Nursing Assistantship
- Medicine
- Correctional Facilities
- Military Engineering
Well I remember an old thread about a giant robot being depicted in a news segment which later devolved into discussions of the feasibility of military mechs. I think those mechs from Matrix and Avatar are "more feasible" (the description and appearance says they are around 12 to 15 feet tall) as these can be used outside of military application such as construction, whereas a 60-foot tall robot is nearly useless.
Yes, I remember that thread quite well and enjoyed your contribute to that thread as well as that of others. For me, as an Industrial Psychologist, I see the benefits of Robotics in the operational aspect in industry.
If i may illustrate,
PS. This WILL revolutionize long term care industry.
O
They can also be used to promote Japan, just combine robot technology with this... specially if we are to consider some of the common perception of Japan, such as its pop-culture, high-technology aside from the samurai and pre-Meiji era Japanese culture.
What brand is Chinese robot which yoi said is useful and good business?Robot industry is one proof that Japan will fail!! Japanese robots are beautiful, but useless; Chinese robots are weird, but useful. Japan has spent 20 years on robot, still no business; China just started R&D on robot 10 years ago, a solid business. Japanese beautiful robots are not as important as those toys such as iRobot in business sense. This just shows a failed mindset of Japanese. This is how Japan with so called advanced technology failed in computer, communication and information industry. Market decides products, not so called technology.
Toshiba has many so called advanced technology, possibly a leader in robot technology too. But still a money-losing company. You make cool products, but NO MARKET!!
Chinese products cheap but useful; Japanese products expensive and useless. Japanese always likes to add many useless features and claims that they are technology advanced. But customers are with limited budgets and they do not need those features. Especially when cheap Chinese products even beats expensive Japanese products in the main function. You know what happens!!
The comparison of Chinese products vs. Japanese products can be seen in foods. Chinese foods are more delicious than Japanese foods and we use big bowls for foods. Japanese foods are using delicate utensils. A tiny Japanese foods is more expensive than high volume Chinese foods. For most people, deliciousness and volume are the most important , they will buy Chinese foods; Only fans with love of delicate Japanese utensils will buy Japanese foods at such an expensive. That's why except in ASEAN with many Japanese fans, Chinese products beat Japanese products heavily.
