Road to nowhere: the longest expressway India never had

Even Pakistan has finished Coastal Highway which goes over Pakistan coast, India can't finish this?

LOL that two lanes highway, we are constructing all weather four lanes expressway in mountains of Jammu and Kashmir with a 9km long tunnel.

.
Indians... I wasn't saying India was building coastal highway. I said Pakistan has built 1000 km highway, why hadn't India finished theirs?

Is this what you are talking about? here it says its 653 kms, was the project extended to 1000 kms afterwards?
Makran Coastal Highway is a 653 km-long coastal highway along Pakistan's Arabian Sea coastline. It runs primarily through Balochistan province between Karachi and Gwadar, passing near the port towns of Ormara and Pasni.
The official and technical designation of the Makran Coastal Highway is N10, which is the abbreviation for National Highway 10.

Gurgaon Expressway - This expressway is among the lowest in satisfaction rating

Despite huge investments, hype and hoopla the expressway is marred by traffic jams. The ever so promised[citation needed] smooth ride is just a dream. The situations gets worse especially at peak hours and at tolls. It can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 45 minutes to cross the toll[citation needed]. The jams at other places on the expressway are very common[citation needed]. This expressway is among the lowest in satisfaction rating

Gurgaon Expressway only 28 km, an easy job helped by many foreign building companies

we are talking 1050 km Ganga Expressway, it's failed
HK is such a small country its easy to build infrastructure for it . we are talking about a 3.3 million sqkm country.

1. pakistan is small country with less area and India is very very big so it takes time to complete each and every area.

2. Makran Coastal Highway in pakistan is only 653 km :P

In India we have Golden Quadrilateral = 5,846 km of four/six lane express highways :woot:

We have finished 5850 km Golden Quadrilateral road project which connects four major Indian cities...There are several other thousands of km roads are going on....Chinese pick only this incomplete project for troll...

.
In india we have North–South and East–West Corridor 7300 kilometers of four/six lane expressways connecting Srinagar, Kanyakumari, Porbandar and Silchar, at a cost of US$12.317 billion (at 1999 prices).

Friend how can u call it a incomplete project???????????

In India every project has to be approved by the state and central govt.

But Ganga Expressway was denied approval by the central environment and forest ministry. So this project died in the proposal state itself.

When Its not a approved project then how can we start work on it, and when we have not started the work then how its incomplete????????????
 :cheesy:

This is definitely not a good news for India. There is a lot of political wrangle. SP does not want to support what Mayawati has supported and UPA will rather bargain with SP on presidential candidates and other political issues rather than taking up economic issues.

Having stated that, for the people who want to talk about failure this snippet did not catch their eyes.

the $8 billion Golden Quadrilateral project, that links big cities New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai with modern highways, has been mostly completed.

There will be delays and cost escalations but ultimately the project will complete.

are the roads in this project 4 lane or 6 lane?

. . . .
Land acquisition has not been completed as of now imho. have not heard about this project in quite some time. Would have created a lot of business opportunities for UP. sadly SP has come to power and all development projects started in last govt. will face trouble.
