Ultra Large Nuclear Carrier Submarine - SSCN seen on at MMXE Pasir Gudang,Johore

Malaysian Marine and Extreme Engineering (MMXE) was awarded with the contract worth 270 billion USD for building 10 SSCN submarine for RMN after the successful service of the 12 Super Scorpene Carrier Submarine built by the same shipyard.

RMN kept themselves cool when questions arised regarding this mega constructions but do gave a slight idea on the proportions of the subs.

The latest SSCN dwarfed the already massive Super Scorpene Carrier Submarines and had double aircraft capacity with a much sleeker and stealthier hull characteristics.

At least 32 aircraft consisting of 4 tactical fighter squadron will be attached on a single submersible with additional 16 rotary winged aircraft for special operation units and military operations other than war (MOOTW).

RMN had also shown interest in procuring more Su-30V/MKM..which already in service throughout RMN fighter wings in lieu with Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet.

Added offensive capabilities includes 18 missile silos for the upcoming extremely long range cruise missile...12 torpedo tubes capable of simultaneous launch ability and the improved Electronic/Magnetic Anomaly Disruptor (EMAD) to counter ASuW aircraft fitted with Magnetic Anomaly Detector (MAD)

Powered by 4 KHzX-1111 Kusnetsova Federova hybrid nuclear reactor from Russia, the subs is capable of operating almost forever in subsurface conditions with unlimited operating range thus giving RMN extended and unlimited force projection blue water capabilities.

The first subs KD BELANG TARUNG will be operational in March 2011.

If the U.S. or Russia or China announced a submersible aircraft carrier capable of launching and recovering modern fighters, I'd still laugh myself silly.

Japan built a couple that could launch rickety propeller aircraft, but couldn't recover them. The aircraft had to land on the water, and a crane would get them aboard.

Impossible to build something like the story describes. Perhaps a big sub might have a helicopter or two. Not jets.
