Reza Aslan - Bigotry, Fundamentalism and Neo-Atheism in the Media

In his inerviews with TYT, he was clear what he personally thought as his belief is. He does not believe in a deity/god per se, religion for him is shared experience with other people. You should watch that interview.
Either that or he is a smooth lier.
lets just say he has an unconventional idea of god

he never talks about his idea of god, he defends islam as religion. He reverted to shia islam, which I am guessing his heritage was originally. I think he longs for comfort of belonging to a group of people he is associated with, and wants to defend his people against unnecessary vilification.
I doubt he even as abrahamic idea of god let alone islamic one.
from wiki (which talks about above video interview)
In 2014, in an interview with Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks, Aslan described Islam as "a man-made institution. It’s a set of symbols and metaphors that provides a language for which to express what is inexpressible, and that is faith. It’s symbols and metaphors that I prefer, but it’s not more right or more wrong than any other symbols and metaphors. It’s a language, that’s all it is.

His version is so far away from islam he will be called an imposter, if ISIS captures us both, he will be beheaded and I will get the option of converting into abu-bakr-al-londoni-had-bin-al-hindi :p:

well not everyone of Abrahamic faith has the same idea of God ...... some interpret quran allegorically , others literally.so you cant realy say there is a unified concept of God :p

People of abrahamic faith at least agree on one idea: a single creator God. Everything else is open to interpretation but not that one. Please tell me if that is not the case.
