Reviving railways: ‘No plans to lease engines from India’

yeah i agree it was satellite carrying rocket but the point is the failure of indian engineers and scientists really isnt it?

Name a space agency with 100% success rate. Failure is an integral part of research and development process.

When a car overhaul is done , its really a restoration a 100% restoration of old item to make it brand new

Car overhaul includes

a) Bringing the car unit into Mechanical Complex
b) The mechanics, then carefully detach the external components (doors , wind shield, hoods)
c) After the external items are removed the engine is removed from the car sperated (when engine over haul is being done)
d) The body is completely deassembled , seats are removed, the floor is removed
e) Car's tires are removed , and then the springs and shocks are replaced brake systems are upgraded
f) The dash board elements are easy to replace , or upgrade once the car in this state
with brand new elements like digital monitors, or systems
g) Wiring is corrected in the car
h) Any rusted elements are replaced or weilded toegther for a brand finish
i) The engine is opened up seperately
k) Every part of the engine is opened to core, and the engine goes thru a degreaser
l) The components , valuves are replaced and any damaged pistons are removed and replaced
m) The degreaser removed all the sludge from the engine's internals
o) The engine is assembled back into one working component its tested out to working condition again proir to addition in car
p) The engine external is painted brandnew color

q) The part is reintroduced into the car, with new hoses , and brandnew shinning parts
l) The other superficial parts , the car's floor is redone , seats are installed back
m) Electrical components and music systems are reattached , and the dash is added back , winshields are added back sealed
Car then goes thru a fine detail process


Paint , color , rims

End result is a product 99.9% new and you can even add new digital parts in previously analog display systems


End product is a product with 7-10 years warranty as all components of the car are restored

So I hope that when our Railways say they overhauled a engine I hope they mean such , reconstruction of engine and not just buying a part from China and simple adding that in that is not overhaul its just repair work

Japanese Consultants who Analysed Pakistan Railways Engineering stated
that Pakistani Engineers and Facility and workers are VERY hardworking and get thing done on time

However he noted that the are hindered by "Politics and No budget allocated for them to buy parts"

This study was done as part of Program by Japan to help construct the Rasulour factiry (Japanese donation) and they had also taught Pakistani engineers to build 1 Japanese Model (Licence)

This however did not improve Pakistan Railways to make new 10 Engines per years

This is a true video its not a german but is an indian missile.

Every technological development goes through different phases...So as the Indian missile program. It has evolved to its maturity and is to a great extent it is independent now...So please stop these kind of cheap tactics to show low to us....Because you in return you know that there are several instances can be presented about your country too....The fact is at least India is pretty much advanced in technologically point of view from your nation....So even you show some of the failures of our technological achievements that does not undermine the success that we have achieved.

There r already have a dozen Private Airlines flying all over India n even around the globe, besides with the advent of GAGAN by mid 2013 itself it is estimated that there will be a 20% saving in fuel cost for Indian airlines.....:)

Better start worrying about PIA hope it does not face the same fate as PR....:lol:

PIA is far better thn air india though/ranked above air india ;) PIA has the largest European network if compared to south asian carriers that to only with 39 planes and only 9 flying into Europe.

Indians cant afford it

Mate Private airlines are far cheaper than Air India(the national airline)

Mate, i dont know whether PIA is far better than air India or not - maybe it is, but pointing out that PIA has the largest European network compared to South Asian airlines is not an achievement. It is an indicator that PIA is putting its planes where the customers are...most well to do in Pakistan have half their families in Europe.

In India the vast majority of flights is within country. So most the carriers - public as well as private - are geared towards meeting pan-India travel.

The trouble with: Flying PIA
Flights cancellations and delays have become a norm with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). Almost a third of PIA flights suffered delays due to technical and administrative reasons in 2012. More than 4,345 of PIA’s 12,184 flights were delayed due to various administrative and technical problems in last year’s first three months, Syed Naveed Qamar, the federal defence minister, told the parliament earlier in the year.
The result was huge financial loss: in December 2012 the minister revealed that the airline currently faces a loss of 141.4 billion rupees, as compared to 42.4 billion rupees in 2008. Much of the problem is attributed to PIA’s ageing fleet of aircraft, most of which has outlived its manufacturer-prescribed age of 16 years. This ageing fleet has also become an international embarrassment, with several European countries repeatedly conveying safety concerns to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in Pakistan and demanding that a ban be imposed on PIA’s flights. Even on domestic routes, passengers frequently complain about a deteriorating quality of service, leading to a shift to alternative, private airlines for domestic travel.

Indian Missiles are transfer of technology (failed ones) from Russia & missiles made in Russia bought by India & painted in Indian colors.
