Revisiting 1962 war with China: When India's prestige was in a shambles

?

but you still have inferior weapons, you still barely have any weapons manufacturing capability and you still don't have the money/economy in comparison to china.
All of that's ok, but the overall power gap between indian and chinese militaries still isn't large enough to allow china a complete victory. Moroever in 1962 had 3-4 divisions in Tawang against 2 indian brigades. You don't have that advantage now. Infact you're outnumbered in the east , especially in chumbi valley.
if there were gaps in equipment, manufacturing in 62', they were small
They weren't small, chinese military had experience from korean war. They had type56 rifle which was very reliable and had a good performance and also employed concentrated artillery and mortar fire when assaulting indian positions. India army of 1962 had 20 division. PLA of the same era had 100+ divisions . The standard issue was lee enfield.
and since then they have only grown much larger.
Interior israeli army with inferior economy in the 1970s whopped the *** of the rich arabs.
i mean, in 62, china was as poorer than india per capita and only very slight larger in total GDP due to larger population. today, china is over 5x the size of india economically speaking, with generational advantages in weapons tech, and i dont think we need to go deeper into manufacturing capabilities here.
The main thing which decides the outcome in a war is application, size and capabilities of forces. India and china's armies don't have a very large gap in equipment
india itself admits its got a whole 15 days of ammunition, and a wide array of items it simply cannot replenish in any war lasting more than like a month, because those equipment is all imported.
No, that means at any given time military has stocks for 15 days of intense war and 30 days of continued warfare. And who told you that all the equipment is imported ? India's defence procurement has a capital budget of 18 billion dollars, out of that 70% is spent in domestic Industry. India's defence import has reduced over the past decade.
also what in service hypersonic weapons does india even have? brahmos II is in development.
HSTDV has been tested successfully. India's aim is to operationalise these weapons by 2025

What I fail to understand is that why there would be some full-scale war between China and India, in foreseeable future? It is not a joke. China has the capacity, but no wish or purpose to do so. India might have a wish, but has no capacity, for such a venture. I don't think that India would deliberately repeat the mistake of 1962.

. .
Did any one of them step forward to help us ? Mere words won't make a difference, and The USSR had a good relationship with Mao's china till late 60s.
How ignorant are you Indians, no wonder you people are foolish enough to invade chinese territories repeatedly and get schooled.

The problem is Indians are delusional, they think they have the capacity of a superpower. They simply don't follow this normal logic.

This people is a "penny wise, pound foolish" one, and they will continue to try to nibble away other's land that they never belong, until next Galwan. Well, good to keep them busy up in Himalaya, so they can just forget about why they wanted to be Independent in first place.

Yes, common public and media, but not their political and military leaders. They are quite shrewd, pragmatic and realistic. They are fully cognizant of their limitations and inadequacies. See how they managed the situation, after Galwan Clash.

My contention is that probability of a full-scale war is extremely low. Small skirmishes, like Galwan Clash, are possible, which can then be managed diplomatically.

Any country wanting a long drawn out war, which is what will happen with two populations of near equal size and the weaker one being propped up by a proxy superpower financially, technologically and militarily, has only to turn its eyes towards Ukraine and its devastated cities and millions of refugees scattered across the continental mainland. Lets get real. India and China will happily destroy each other beyond the limits of their respective internal tolerance red lines. Hence both will continue to tap dance around one another. Unless someone is naive enough to believe that a conflict would remain confined to the barren deserts of Ladakh and Tibet and leave the main population centers of both countries untouched.

India is just an insignificant side show for China, China's rival is US, India's rival is Pakistan

We are not talking "rivalry" here. When the shit hits the fan, if the shit ever hits the fan, Tibet is first in the crosshairs of our mountain corps. Next will be your big cities that you are so proud of. Where millions live, because unlike India, your population densities are river based. There is no rivalry here. Just the promise that we will reach out and touch you. Very hard.

lol, you really talk big, Pakistan will finish you off first before China even get a chance to have her hands on.

How far you have to travel to reach major Chinese cities? Your New Delhi is with China's attilery fire so are half of your total population.

Pakistan is not coming to your aid. They have already cancelled the CPEC Authority. By the look of things, once you stop the free money and military aid, which you will, more will follow. Regardless, we have enough to reach out and touch you. And your military planners know that. So shoving and pushing and knocking down stone fences with an occasional Galwan or Doklam is all you can and will do. And there too you will be paid back manifold.

Pakistan has enough nuke to wipe you off the surface of the earth and they hate you to the core, the hate so strong that nowhere else in the world can match up to. We'll help them to achieve their goal, our economy is six times of yours, so helping a friend is well within our capacity.

Pakistan are our blood brothers Beijing. The hate has never been strong enough for either army to go Mongol on the other in the many wars we have fought. The odd beheading or mutilation here and there notwithstanding. You guys are a different race. The only thing holding you in their good books is your money and the arms you provide them. You've replaced the US for them. When that stops, you will learn who actually hates who.

@beijingwalker which economy you're talking about? 😃

@beijingwalker On the Chinese side, the narratives are varied, some declaring victory, some expressing disappointment the way the PLA left the occupied areas, and still others declaring it a loss of face for China
