Replacement for Turkish m113 Fleet Discussion

As you all know that Turkey is operating over 3.000 Units of m113 APC that are already aged.

It´s time to dicuss which is the best Replacment for the Future.


As The Candidates we have today an Tulpar from Otokar Company and maybe FNSS will show us an new Version of his Kaplan (Stretched Version) like Tulpar for carrying troops.

There is too an 3rd option that maybe Turkish Army don´t accept the Products and maybe there will come an new Product.

Pakistan also uses M113 I think Pakistan and Turkey both need to replace old APCs so let work together on this also

when i post it, that time you didi not have that type of staff or i was not aware of.

So we developed equivalents in just 9 months? Those are not babies dude, the development goes for years.

the question is will you start mass production it or not?

If the army makes orders then why not? Its not like those companies spend millions in R&D to please fanboys in PDF.

Other than MRAPs, no recommendations for an APC, but for IFV requirements you can't get much better than the CV90:

All weather, all terrain, battle-tested, reliable with hard-hitting weapons and suvivability against rounds up to 30mm.

With capacity for 3 crew and 8 armed troops.

And counter UAV capabilities:

CV90 can also be configured as a light tank, in the CV90120-T configuration:

No doubt, one of the best. Like Puma, Namer and others like Tulpar, I guess.

I've heard of many issues surrounding CV90, poor reliability being a major factor. Were those issues sorted out?

I did my military service on the Swedish Armed Forces. I was CV90 Driver for 10 months and I I can say is its a pice of junk.
it has a lot of problems for example it leaks water in to the back cabin the tracks do come of way to easy and so on...

BAE are really good at marketing there products that's all.

I was a CV9030FIN gunner and I disagree with Lepr0n's assessment that CV90 is not a "tank". CV90 is not meant to engage MBTs so obviously it isn't heavily armored, and especially here in Finland CV's small size is to great benefit and many times in laser combat simulations I found myself outgunning Leopards because they could not turn their turrets in deep forests. While CV's main gun cannot penetrate an MBT's armor it can destroy its gun and optics very easily. If you engage an MBT head on with a CV you are toast, but that would be pretty damn stupid of you and the whole point is to place CV in areas where enemy MBT presence is limited or alternatively the CVs are accompanied by heavier support. And don't forget that the CV can carry 8 infantrymen with it, and setting up a proper ambush can take out any MBT with AT weapons.

Targeting system of the CV was very, very good and the computer you had on your side provided truckloads of information, and also contained a thorough manual for the vehicle. There was plenty of room behind the gunner's back for storing foodstuff (we were encouraged to do this during long exercises) and there was air conditioning right next to you, blowing fresh air on your face which was a huge relief during long training situations.

The main two flaws of the vehicle are weak engine and gun jams. As for the engine, it is adequate as for its power but as a truck engine it is not suited for long periods of constant stress and it was a common nuisance to have some tubes break apart and thus have oils and coolant run out of the engine and render the tank useless. As for the gun, sometimes the metal links connecting the ammo would get stuck in the gun either while being ejected after shot or when loading the gun. They were usually quick fixes however.

+ Very fast to reload and has lots of ammo
+ Very fast and agile
+ Gun is not too long, making it easier to maneuver in forests
+ Virtually no recoil
+ Accurate to several km
+ Good computer system to provide info on vehicle status & user manual
+ Excellent troubleshooting system. The computer is able to report hundreds of different problems that may arise and provide solutions for them. If anything goes wrong, even a small thing, the computer lets the crew know about it.
+ Good selection of tools and storage
+ Comfortable
+ Several targeting systems to choose from. Losing the gunner's optics is never a fate-sealing loss.

- Tracks are pretty sensitive and often may tear a part of the side armor when hitting larger rocks.
- Occasional oil and coolant leaks
- Gun jams if the commander is not careful when loading the gun.

- can only carry 6 dismounts, or 7 with minimal equipment (some variants can squeeze in 8).

Tulpar carries 9. There are very few tracked APCs that can carry a full squad of 9 with high firepower - Tulpar and the K21. Namer can also carry 9 but firepower is weak. Bionix also can but only in a weak firepower configuration.
