Renowned Sufi singer Iqbal Bahu passes away.

LAHORE: Renowned singer Iqbal Bahu, 65, passed away Saturday in Lahore after protracted illness.

He was known for singing “Sufiana and Arifana Kalam (the poetry of saints).

He was born in Gurdaspur Punjab‚ India, migrated to Pakistan after independence and settled in Lahore.

He mastered Sufi tradition of well-known Sufi saint Sultan Bahu and awarded Tamgha-i-Imtiaz honor by the government in year 2008. (PPI)
