Remembering the Ottoman Empire’s forgotten Indian Allies

.
read the article again my dear read the article .... or precisely that quoted sentence.

it not me who is painting Mr. Gandhi or congress as predominantly 'saffron' ....

But the fact doesnt change that Mahatma Gandhi and majority of Indians were against the dissolving of the Caliphate.

. . .
'were' is the catching word ... here

If Mahatma Gandhi would be alive similar like Neilson Mandela then i think we wont be even talking on this subject.

This fact is part of Indian Freedom History that Mahatma Gandhi was part of Khilafat Movement.

Under the leadership of the Ali Brothers, Maulana Muhammad Ali and Maulana Shaukat Ali, the Muslims of South Asia launched the historic Khilafat Movement to try and save it.

Mohandas Karam Chand Gandhi linked the issue of Swaraj with the Khilafat issue to associate Hindus with the movement. The ensuing movement was the first countrywide popular movement.

Khilafat days that representatives of Indian Muslims came into contact with eminent personages from other Muslims countries to save the semblance of unity in the world of Islam.

Are Indians proud on serving for the British empire?

My Great grand father served the British Empire, he and many Muslims deserted the army when they heard they were gonna be sent to fight the Caliphate; many Muslims had no choice. Those who refused were executed.

But the fact doesnt change that Mahatma Gandhi and majority of Indians were against the dissolving of the Caliphate.

The only reason Gandhi decided to protest against the war was to find a excuse to gain Muslim support and pressurize the British.
