Release more funds for Delhi's development: Arvind Kejriwal to Centre

@isupportaap @Guynextdoor2

Any explanations? Why do we need to subsidize Delhi residents free water?
"It is not that it is just the Centre giving money for the development of the national capital. Delhi gives Rs 65,000 crore in form of taxes to the Centre every year and in return gets only a paltry sum of Rs 325 crore. We should get at least Rs 10,000 crore for the development of the colonies," he said.

And that's where governments need to step in or shall i say supposed to be....Most of our farming is still done using Adam's day technology...depending on rains...credit by greedy landlords...no proper price mechanism...storage etc etc....Land banks is the need of the hour and use of innovations...Soil Health Card is a great move...however its a shame that a country which is primarily agri land(in terms of employment) soil health card is still a paper policy...no integrated irrigation system(i can write a chapter on this)....then it has to be govt. fault...

The better technology you employ, by definition, the lesser number of people you need for a given output.

The answer is not to employ more people in agriculture, its to provide them employment elsewhere, that is in manufacturing.

A country like ours cannot ignore agriculture otherwise you will see an explosion in Urban population(which unfortunately is happening)...Look at Delhi..it was more of a middle class/rich class hub....demography has changed dramatically over the years....Just to give you an example regarding importance of agriculture - US is the worlds third largest producer of wheat....If you look at EU stats about self sufficiency in food items you would be surprised.....In short India can't afford to ignore agriculture and high time we need serious steps here....

Its not ignoring agriculture, its being sensible enough to optimize the human resources. Currently, the agriculture sector wastes India's human resources by under-employing them.

No is asking all to move to Delhi, its about setting up industrial areas where none exist now.

Boss these are projections....Jaitley might not be alive by the time we hit this 30 crore number....just for records i support this bill...

Obviously they are projection, what else could they be before the bill has even been enacted?

bingo...I agree...however your initial posts were probably giving a different sense(may be my fault)

Even after enacting, it will take a substantial time...30 crore is no joke...anyhow let's see how it goes..
