Unless there is a drastic change in the mode of governance, nothing will change. As they say the greatest mistake is to continue to practice the same mistake.

But did education increased in Marshal law ? Its a cyclic argument to keep democracy away. All they have to say that nation is uneducated and don't deserve democracy and they won't try to make people educated.

People are confused which rule is better. At one hand people don't have any say in the politics and governance of the country and in other people get fooled by politicians.

This rose petals game of "Democracy Yes, Democracy No" will keep the nation confused.

Pick one and stick by it and try to improve it. Look at China, they are developing with Communism, India and US have huge democracy, just pick one school of thought.

Rome wasn't built in a day.

Unless Pakistan do drastic reforms to end feudal system and control the religious extremists there is no chance of education. Schools will be blown up in KP & Baluchistan and in Punjab & Sindh it will be used as personal property. A democratic government can't do these reforms because same people are sitting in parliament against whom reforms are needed.

There is a difference the question is not asked whether they want military rule or civilian rule.

It is just asked how much confidence do they have in the military. Then separately how much confidence in the civilians.

To get a proper result you need to ask, do you want military dictator ruling over you?

If you go out of cities than you will be amazed to know the people's opinion.

Pakistan is a mess tht no amounts of paper reforms can solve; unfortunately the amount of time Pakistan has taken to devolve is roughly the same as the amount it will take for it to get back on track.

Where does it start? Education.

In 20 more years when the intelligentsia outnumbers the baboons ,the wheels can be expected to start rolling up hill, automatically.

This will be a slow and arduous process, but definitely worth it.

There is a saying in Punjabi .

"danda pir aye wigryan tigrian da "

No matter how much better democracy is from the dictatorship it will never work until the basic mindset of people are changed . and that will only happen when you will provide them education , which no Political party seems to be interested in , 10 million kids in Punjab are unable to attend schools as they have no money or schools for that matter ( but we need a Metro ) .

we have our priorities wrong , specially the politicians , hence even now More people Trust & support Army then the politicians or Democracy , and the ratio will keep increasing with the magnificent work our Democratic government is doing .

unfortunately now a days there is a saying in Army circulars .

" If the Nation wants to go to Hell , lets go with them "
Hence you see no interference from Army whatsoever . as they have learned their lesson , the people of our country are Nashukray ( Thankless ) . so Army is not going to takeover or interfere , you will reap what you will sow .
