What's new

Real Taliban are not terrorists.

No. Iran has to join America when it comes to fighting Taliban.

Iran is a Shia Majority Country. And Taliban hates Shia's. If they don't join America to fight Taliban, Shia population would decrease in Pakistan & Afganistan.

I think Iran knows better than most how to interact with Afghans.

Afghanistan is simply put a very complicated country.
Afghan Taliban who were once not liked by the non pashtun tribes may slowly become popular with all Afghans if US does not manage to appeal to the masses, something very much likely with Karzai at the top.

When an Afghan will be killed by US, locals will all respect him for fighting foreign invaders and will not look at what tribe or party he belonged to or what his past was.
The more anti-US forces are made to bleed by the US (and allies) the more other Afghans will become sympathetic to anti US cause.

The thing is that Afghans are fiercely proud and independent for most part but on the other hand their land is destitute and utterly ruined for most part.
From this absolute poverty, desperation and strong sense of pride a very complex scenario arises.

They have been used/allied by superpowers and mostly turned against both.
The more time US forces are in Afghanistan the more this pride will come to play and there shall be growing unrest against US, unless of course the US manages somehow to please all parties including Afghan Taliban...now that is something easier said than done, especially since the US Gov will not want to be seen as kneeling to those Taliban it called terrorists and branded the same as Al Qaeda in front of its citizens.

In declaring all Taliban as its enemies the US has prolonged the War on Al Qaeda and extended its stay in Afghanistan...
Now combine this with the excellent strategic positioning of US military and intelligence assets near massive energy resources and the potential energy export routes...

The game plan is obvious...for this to work flawlessly the US needs a pro US Afghan government...and has tried to portray itself as a liberator of Afghans from Taliban...in NA and other anti Taliban groups the US has garnered some support as well....but...

In choosing Karzai US has done something similar to What USSR was doing when it backed Babrak Kamal...it will not work since Karzai is not respected by Afghans and in being a puppet he is even more ridiculed by the Afghans.
Militarily US can hold its own against any force but i see a very weak position politically for Karzai and that will be the downfall of current setup...
Having said this, i think US may come up with another setup and include some Pashtun elements in its next plan...Iran will also most likely be approached and well probed by US to see what role Iran can play without harming US interests.

Iran knows better than to meddle openly in Afghanistan and will not risk in upsetting any major ethnic group or party which can be its neighboring government in future.
Iran shall not risk being seen as a foreign country which is overtly meddling in the internal affairs of Afghans.
With Iran's strategic position all it needs to do is to sit back and enjoy the show and if US comes to talk, talk on Iranian terms.

"I confess that [countries] are pieces on a chessboard", said Lord Curzon, British viceroy of India in 1898, "upon which is being played out a great game for the domination of the world".

They already have. And their proxies are now in the AFghan government.

For the rest of you numbskulls, quit being the couch-warriors you so persistently cling to and put your feet behind your mouth. Go get an AK and walk the talk. You'll find those soft, lazy American soldiers right at your border and we'll see who the tough guys are then.
:

For you information no US or NATO soldiers are guarding the borders. Borders are wide open from your side and Taliban, RAW agents and Afghanis for Afghanistan come to FATA and cause Destruction in Pakistan.

Real taliban were Afghani freedom fighters who defeated soviets.
its funny that today even a foreigner sponsored teen age boy can be labeled as "talibani" by media and it never comes to our mind that real taliban were only freedom fighters 20-25 years ago. Its in colonists of Afghanistan interest to defame and dismantle this very effective organization in order to achieve its strategics goals which many super powers have try doing in the past.
i dont care who takes responsibility of terrorists attacks because now it has become a confirmed joke and not to forget their fake leaders are even bigger joke.
ALL militants operating in Pakistan are terrorists.

We want ALL real, fake or the doh numbri Taliban out of Pakistan. If only there was a giant shovel with which we could scoop em up and drop them in the middle of Afghanistan.

If they are fighting for the freedom of Afghanistan, GOTO AFGHANISTAN! In Pakistan they are low life scum who should be shot without remorse.

Mullah Omar is the same man who told Baitullah Mehsud and his TTP to stop killing Pakistani troops a while back before forming an alliance.

Here are some threads on so called "Pakistan Taliban" TTP, they are certainly not the same as the original Afghan Taliban.

Omar, the alliance was formed on March 02. 09, but the Taliban continue to attack Pakistani troops and civilians. So, what has are "great friend" Mullah Omar done about it?

Major attacks by the Taliban since March 02, 2009:

March 3, 2009: Gunmen mount a brazen, coordinated attack on Sri Lanka's touring cricket team in Lahore, killing eight people as well as wounding seven players and a coach

March 7, 2009: Eight policemen and soldiers killed in a booby-trapped car bomb attack on a police van on the outskirts Peshawar

March 9, 2009: Taliban forces killed 14 soldiers. (TTP Mohmand Agency chief Umer Khalid confirmed the attack)

March 16, 2009: A bomb explodes near a bus stop in Rawalpindi, killing seven people

March 27, 2009: A suicide bomber attacks a packed mosque in the northwestern town of Jamrud at prayer time, killing around 50 people and wounding dozens more.

March 29, 2009: A large Taliban force captured 12 policemen after surrounding their outpost in Khyber.

March 30, 2009: Gunmen storm a police training compound at Manawan, near Lahore, unleashing a fierce battle with security forces. ( Baitullah Mehsud has claimed responsibility)

April 05, 2009: ISLAMABAD, six security personnel and two civilians were killed when a suicide bomber struck makeshift barracks of the paramilitary constabulary (Baitullah Mehsud has claimed responsibility)

April 15, 2009: 10 policemen among 16 killed in Charsadda suicide attack

April 18, 2009: 25 security personnel among 27 killed in Hangu attack.

Moreover, if TTP is really working for the Indians then why would they form an alliance (Shoora Ittehad-ul-Mujahiddin) with our "great friend" Mullah Omar, does that make any sense to you?

Ok, I'll say again, lets stop fooling ourselves that there are "good" Taliban and "bad" Taliban, they are all one.

Once again we see examples of how and why significant numbers of Pakistanis are not convinced that the Talib are enemies - see the proliferation of "real" Talib, "real" Islam and "real" Shariah arguments, some apologists who think they can steal the moniker "Islamists" from the Talib and obscuritanists hope to out Islam the Islamist and those of who suggest this is vacuous idea are advised to drop our naivete.
