The thing is more we develop economically, more people will considers the salaries as low as they can see a private jobs guy earning the same as him without doing the kind of work the soldiers do.. Just like how western soldiers complain of being homeless after retirement.

The sites don't includes many kinds of allowance.. An average salary if a soldier will be 35000 INR.. In disturb areas like kashmir it will be between 40000-450000 INR and in siachin and some other very high areas it is between 45000-50000.


Add all the allowances and average salary after the latest pay commission is 35000 INR


Yaar we dont get many things in paramilitary canteens, hope paramilitary canteens match the CSD canteen level.. Still much cheaper than malls and shops.


40K is enough for soldiers who comes mostly from rural areas.
Most have farming land plus cattles at village home and get salary+ other facilities provided by the army.. So they are financially very stable.

So, what you are saying is CO should be commanded by his men? If CO asks them, the Sepoy can decide if they want to go or not.

There will be always some complaints, not saying everything is working fine. But they live a well payed and dignified life. The food, some may find it different because, in India food varies from just one city to another. And we cannot make something that satisfies everyone's taste buds.

Yeah, I think so. I think every job that pays at least 5k requires hardwork. It's earned not for free. You might know that if you are working men. If we want socialism to happen in India, from PM to Porter, our country will be a basket case.

Just take like this: a 3 yr exp senior software engineer working for 10+ billion dollar firms like Infosys, TCS has in hand salary of approx 30K INR. If a sepoy in army can earn this much, I dont think soldiers are doing that bad in India.

Here as well we have CSD, you can buy salt to luxury SUV at highly subsidized rates. Not to forget other perks.

Renumeration has certainly improved for armed personnel lately.
