all security agencies including, police, local administration, IB, FIA, judges, employees of institutions etc they get plots. you can oppose the allotment of plots on various grounds but for many these plots or houses are the only post retirement privilege. having lived on minimal pays all their service if you take out this last benefit it will only harm them financially. Remember its not just about well off Generals, judges etc its about the common government servant. not all officers have wealthy backgrounds in fact very few in armed forces belong to rich families.

I mean what kinda excuse is this that every officer does not belong from well off background? Have you ever compared the gazetted salary and federal perks of csp's and military officers with that of a doctor , engineer, district judge , professor or even with a patwari ?

Nobody is asking to take their tanks and jeeps away strictly meant for service duties but Why cant they buy a private vehicle, accommodation or pay the utility bills from their salary?

Military is a separate entity. It’s has it own code of conduct, laws and area designated to it. Military cost money, if you cannot bear the expenses than disband it all together. Soon enough there won’t be any govt, and then you will have Indian and Afghan on your door step to run a rape train. Don’t turn military into another dysfunctional state institution due to personal envy and leg pulling.
