US embassy has all sorts of wierdos working inside..i wont be surprised if this is proved to be true..They are in the habit of de stabilizing countries for their own benifit and CIA is well know for foul play and dirty tactics.

Davis = CIA

It is about time that we started looking out for our interests, not just Uncle Sam's.

BTW, we're quite used to the US being all friendly one moment and bitter enemies the next.

This Love-Hate, Blow Hot-Blow Cold game has been going on for nearly 5-6 decades. Sounds like a perfect marriage.

I don't see Raymond Davis walking from Pakistan now. I think there will be a backchannel deal whereby we won't dredge the US's name into links with terrorism and Obama will grant the immunity waiver. Raymond Davis would be sentenced and life would go on, not as normal, but it would go on. Otherwise...

Once the American people start questioning the Obama Administration about its links with Taliban, even if its with some bizarre purpose of keeping terrorism wrapped in Pakistan so it doesn't spill onto the American continents, I think the people will start questioning with who's mandate was this done?

Hard to say. But on the other hand it may be a conspiracy by evil, orange Bharti press. Better to say it before somebody else comes up with this gem.

Interesting bit of news, which would seem to suggest that the court will proceed accordingly only AFTER the formal and official response has been entered into record

Diplomatic immunity law: notice issued to federal govt

Updated at: 1026 PST, Monday, February 21, 2011

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court issued the notice to the federal government over Diplomatic and Consular Privileges Act 1972, Geo News reported.

A petition has been filed against the law. The CJ LHC Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry refused to summon former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi saying its too early to call him at the moment.

The petitioner Azhar Siddiqui pleaded that no law gives diplomats license to kill. Later, the court adjourned the hearing till 14th March.

Interesting indeed, and its the best approach. Why jump the gun and allow people to say Pakistan's courts allow violation of international law if the federal government itself is going to determine that there is no immunity.

The ides of march will be a fun day :)
