Rangers, BSF chiefs meeting next on Pakistan, India agenda
NEW DELHI – Pakistan and India may have called off the adviser-level talks after a dispute over the agenda but both the sides are set to continue their bilateral engagement with a possible meeting between the directors general of the Pakistan Rangers and India’s Border Security Force on September 6.
The two sides are expected to meet in New Delhi to discuss the situation on the Line of Control in the disputed state of Jammu Kashmir and the working boundary. During the last two months so far, there have been 70 ceasefire violations from the Indian side of the Line of Control and the working boundary, the Foreign Office figures showed.
Quoting official sources, the Indian Express newspaper reported that both Pakistan and India would be initiating discussions on Monday to firm up the logistics and the agenda for the talks between the border security chiefs.
