Northeast is nothing BUT insurgency and secession. Just because they look different from the mainstream Indian they are always being subject to huge discrimination and prejudice, and judging from the way you guys have been acting on this thread, you guys SERIOUSLY have a racism problem. I wouldn't blame them for wanting succession and joining China or in the very least Myanmar, but if I was a Northeasterner, I would join a seperatist movement. Think of it this way: It is understandable why the Northeast wouln't want to join Bangladesh, but what makes you think a lasting peace between the Northeast and India is even possible?

Padma bridge will cost around 2 billion dollars over 4 Years. The BD government will pay 2 billion dollars over 4 years. As a start for this year BD government has allocated hundreds of millions to pay for the current year construction cost of the bridge. Next year more hundreds of millions of dollars will be used to pay for that year's construction costs.

With BD's stable growing economy and minute external debt, around 18 per cent of GDP and falling, you can see that BD will soon start to be able to finance multiple billion dollar construction projects with its own money. By 2020, BD will be able to build the majority of its infrastructure without taking out loans.

And don't make yourself look ignorant by comparing China with Zimbabwe. BD and India are at a similar level in terms of overall development and the GDP growth rates can be compared.

First.Did I imply the concerned bridge will be constructed in a year or that 2 billion must be released in one single block now?
No.If you can still keep up,the point was that just a single project of 2 billion is just pathetic compared to India or even NE India.We will invest and invite almost 1 trillion dollars in the next ten years for our infrastructure upgradation.NE itself has 10 billion dollars of grants allotted this year for infrastructure.
The point is a single bridge,for which you guys need so much resources is being passed off as a monumental achievement by you guys shows the difference in standards and ambitions.You must be a completely ignorant person to think a decent economy means no need for foreign investment.A good economy is used by all smart countries to take loans for further growth and development.Every country desires and targets foreign investment,from first world to third world.Just goes to show that you speak with no knowledge at all.
As far as economy is concerned,BD is peanuts to be honest when taken into the global scenario.
No China and Zimbabwe are pretty relevant though far more stark than India BD,it was used to show you the differences that matter,but you obviously are too semi-educated to get it.BD has less than 1000 dollars as per capita income compared to India's 1600 dollars,according to reliable international institutions and is nowhere near India in absolute terms.The difference in standard is evident by the fact that the most undeveloped part of India has better infrastructure found anywhere in BD.You guys are a low HDI country too overpopulated to provide its people even a miserable existence..as evident by the illegals risking life and limb just to slave away at dirt cheap rates in India,even for Indian standards which are not very high anyway.

And last of all,do learn to stop flying into a rage when someone tries to introduce you to sanity and reality every while and then.

No much difference between India and BD on GDP/capita so they are comparable.
Last I checked China was at 7k GDP/capita and Zimbabwe at 1k.

When did I ever say that in the future that BD will not take loans for infrastructure? All I said was that lack of foreign loans won't cripple infrastructure building like it has done in the past.

Padma bridge is the current example where lack of foreign funding is not stopping its construction. 10 years ago it won't have got built since BD would not have had the internal resources to fund the construction.

Repeating myself, GDP growth, falling external debt and the gradual increase of the tax take as a proportion of GDP will mean that infrastructure construction will speed up as time goes on. Government spending as proportion of GDP is around 18 per cent of GDP when compared to 25 per cent in India and so the scope to increase spending is much higher on BD.

Lastly, BD is much more densely populated than India and so the burden of building infrastructure would be much less in BD than in India.
