The day India develops its relations with China ( and Indian Diplomats are working on it) , they will have flat tyre, in the middle of desert.

Really?.....
China s the current Partner in Almost all defence projects, but Pakistan does have other links and sources in other countries....

.
Not interested, Indians are the only people who desperately seek world's attention by imported missiles and military hardware.
BTW what happened to the NAG Atgm?

.
Excellent development.

Hope they make laser guided artillery projectiles in the lines of Krasnopol having range exceeding 40-50km.

.
The thing is that there are too many big and small defence firms from Israel who are desperate to make money by selling their products.
The market is limited as they are not allowed to do business with Muslim countries and many others..
So India being on the lookout for new weapons, having deep povkets and an ally of Israel , has a very hige market to pick and choose from. The Israelis wont mind debranding their weapons and india can choose a weapon name if their own.
Thats why DRDO coming up with a new weapon system every other week.

Yeah, a bit tough competition is going to kick some lame ***** at DRDO.

.
Barring first few posts, no information on the CLGM can be found on the thread and the very purpose of the person who started it is lost . What peace do we get from this ugly mudslinging is really beyond understanding.

Even if DRDO has copied/modified any foreign product, no one can deny that fact that it has absorbed the technology and the manufacturing can now be done indigenously. For India that means some saving of foreign exchange that can be diverted to other projects and also insulation from any possible embargo or sales restrictions that may come in future.

History, it is said repeats itself because we seldom learn lessons from it. 1965 war ended in stalemate with arms embargo as a big reason. Neither India nor Pakistan have significant R&D efforts in defence. DRDO even with all success it has met recently is only taking baby steps. Let us thank for what we have got from our efforts and not make it an ego issue with member from neighboring countries.

When DRDO drew all the flak it could, due to it's time lines, few of us would often show despair, but the hope was that all the hard work that was being put in would reap future benefits. Just like ISRO did, ISRO put in decades of hard work in research testing and validation and eventually is reaping all it's benefits. DRDO work was due to payoff, and recent flurry of sucessful projects are the tip of iceberg. Hopefully ADA and NAL will follow suit and we will see better developmental work from these two agencies too.

Now it seems that for DRDO missile complex, Testing research and validation is moving smoothly, next challenge would be to translate this success into production, induction and after sales support and product management.
@Safriz... instead of pages of rants, next time a simple congrats will do

Well it may be a cliched explanation but for a country with growing economy to build up an arms industry, which by the way we always compare with best (i mean the west) was always time taking. Hopefully we will see further success and maturity of platforms in future for sure.

^^^ Their 'success rate' has increased because DRDO has finally realized that there is no such thing as 100% indigenous.
They have started to buy diagrams, and components from abroad and incorporate some indigenous components and alterations to make the thing work as per their requirements.
Something Pakistan has been always doing....

Partially true. The policy now is that critical/sensitive technology in a non-strategic project is built inhouse. Critical technology is mandated to be Indian.
The rest can be sourced from global suppliers.

All strategic projects - like Agni, etc have to be completely Indian.

.
International relations barrs Pakistan from revealing what they go,while no such problem for India.
Thats why we dont yet know whay is there in Pakistan's missile inventory, but India can jum around naked with any and every test, succesful ot not.
You mentioned Nasr missile.. Its a missile with 'canards' and that makes its warhead manoeverable all the way till impact.
Thats a technology india is testing now in 2013 with Shouria and K series Missiles, although in a different way..
But Pakistan already had missiles with manoevarable warheads in 2011.

Sorry mate, what you are referring to is old technology for India. Tested on Agni II LONG back. Even Shaurya - a much more advanced version was tested in 2008.

Pakistani missile technology is now far behind India's. The fact of the matter is not that Pakistan is not showing its new inventory of missiles. It is a fact is that they do have longer ranged missiles from their previous best, that they have not shown because of international reasons. However Increasing range is not a technological achivement.

The other fact of the matter is that Pakistan just doesnt have the kind of funds that India has and is putting in R&D, along with the scientific and industrial base that India has. It was inevitable that when India decided to pull its socks up, Pakistan would be left behind in technology. It is happening and will continue to happen.

Well Said,
PERIOD.

BTW what happened to the NAG Atgm?

well Nag was just a tech demontrator with few copies made what IAF & IA needed was something like Hell Fire , Spike Faqmily & shpoulder launched Javlin and dont worry with the new wave of young sienctists and the great amount of money for R & D and Israeli help very soon you will be delighted to see many such new projects and one of them will be selected dont worry we indians are not buying all the ATGM's from all the world to keep them as trophies in glass cabinets

Sad to see senior members being involved with a troll. SMH

I hope you also notice that it was post number 5, written by a moderator, that started the troll fest.

You do realize a great deal of the "hassle" could have been avoided with a little bit more organization. Considering , you used to be a HAL employee.

I'm not questioning the hard-work or dedication, but there is a great deal of input control than what most folks would desire.

Boss ... there is huge room for improvement in every arena for MoD/HAL/DRDO.... I very well realize it... Lots of things could have been done differently... some initiatives are paying well... hopefully this is a good trend for our organizations
