Raining missiles: India test fires cannon launched laser-guided missile

If India just slap the DRDO label on an Israeli missile, then India is doing the smart thing. Why reinvent something that others already have invented? This is not such a big ticket item or advance technology that India cannot purchase. Just go with the route of OEM is sufficient for this kind of weapon.

i think this link might help more in guidence system of Pakistani missle...
North’s missiles tied to Musharraf blunder | The Japan Times

The times this news report is mentioning was when Pakistan had nuclear weapons but no reliable delivery systems, and thats why korean technology was brought in,botched and deployed in haste and accuracy wasnt required.
400-500 meter CEP is fine for nuclear weapons.
But in later years the guidence system was worked upon inhouse and improved...CEP is much better now.
One thing many people dont know is that Soviet SS-20 Missile's guidence system was sold in large numbers in Black market, and many countries benifited from this 'sale'.
Iran being one and most probably both Pakistan and India..The underworld mafia who were selling them didnt care who was buying as long as they paid...

First off the line he is drawing is off..
The missiles fly over kirthar mountains which is least populated area of Pakistan, and part of it comes in Dadu district.
The Blue circle he draws is Dadu city which is far away from the missile firing corridoor..

Why would Pakistan 'test fire' a missile in 2012,it already deployed in the armed forces way back in 2003?
Because it was not the missile being tested...it was thw netcentric warfare which was being tested.
Ghauri is an old expendible missile now and can be used as testing vehicle for other systems.
In this case the missile was instructec to self destruct in boost phase, before the seperation of re-entry vehicle.
At that point the missile was 200 miles or so up,and debris had to fall in a large area from that height.
But remained within unpopulated area as planned, and nobody was killed or no property danaged.

Why Pakistan cannot fire missile in the sea?
Because that will require giving notice to international shipping and creating an exclusion zone by utilizing naval assets...that creates extra fuss, attracts unwanted attention and adds to the cost..
So there there....

But wasn't this test claimed as a grand success hitting the target precisely at its designated range? till the news broke out of huge parts of the missile fell on people's farms, and what other Pakistani missile test failures are u talking about? Pakistan is the only missile testing country in the world with 100% success rate as claimed by Pakistan.

Dude there is no indegineous/ clone/ similiar weapon developed in Pakistan. Infact there is no weapon the has been developed in Pakistan. Their missiles/ nukes are imported. They know it.[/QUOTE]

Only people on this planet who does not know are the gullible Paksitanis. They don't even understand that, had they industrial infrastructure and capability , they would have space missions too and not just missiles. What they have at the best is assembly unit.

Only Country to deal with North Koreans and only country who allowed Chinese to test their NUCLEAR WEAPONS on their land.

The day India develops its relations with China ( and Indian Diplomats are working on it) , they will have flat tyre, in the middle of desert.

CLGM completes test flights - The New Indian Express

The DRDO on Tuesday successfully tested one more round of an advanced version of Cannon-launched Laser Guided Missile (CLGM) from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) off the Odisha coast.

Defence sources said the missile was test-fired from a specially built launcher at the launching complex-II in the afternoon. Three rounds of the missile were tested on Monday and all were successful.

ITR Director MVKV Prasad said altogether the missile was test-fired six times during the mission, which was completed on Tuesday. “All the missiles performed as expected and the trials met mission objectives as coordinated,” he added.

CLGM is a new generation anti-tank missile developed by the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) at Bangalore.

‘Pinaka’ test from today

The test range of Proof and Experimental Establishment (PXE) at Chandipur is all set for the user associate trials of indigenously built multi-barrel rocket system ‘Pinaka’ from Wednesday.

The tests would be carried out by the defence personnel with the logistic support from the PXE, a unit of DRDO. Sources said several tests of Pinaka rockets had been planned in the next three days.

Listen, keep your bias to your self. I can post all the look alikes from your camp as well. This missile just didn't pop up out of no where. It was in development for years.

India tells you their failures. Tells you the indigenous content of the platform. Tells you the foreign consulting, etc, etc, etc. But when this comes out you want to **** on the scientist in DRDO and claim it's a simple re-branding.

Well, its human nature. Jealousy needs an outlet.. Most of the time when you can not match an advancement, you discredit that to reduce your own internal dissonance. Let them have that hypocritical peace of mind of calling Indian advances as re branding while calling JFT as indigenous on the basis of 4 avionics parts made in Pakistan out of thousands of components that go into making a plane :D

Read it in many Chinese forums, Pakistan does job work on a few nuts and bolts, the Chinese view JF17 as a gift for Pakistan from China for being a trusted ally.

Yes and no....
If Armed forces tell the news media that 'the missile test was 100% succesful'...
That does not necessarily means that the missile has hit 'the bulls eye',and it cannot be deemed lying. It simply means that whtever they wanted to acheive from that test has been found working as it should.
There are two important factors we dont consider while reading a news in the news papers about missile tests..
First ..trying to explain the exact technicalities of a missile test to a layman reporter is too difficult, and even if they do manage to explain them what exactly they echeivec from that particular missile test..the reporter may still make errors while reporting on news or writing in paper..and even that will be too difficult for an average joe to understand..
Thats why the public relations officer says a generalized term....' The missile test was success and it has hit the bull's eye'.
Its another thing that not every missile test is carried out to hit a target...there are too many other perimeters which also need to be checked..
For example the only video of Babur cruisw missile in which it is shown in terminal phase 'has no target' .. The missile randomly falls in a ditch behind some bushes..
But ISPR calls it '100% success'...because the perimeters for which the missile was test fire, have been valuated and missile worked as expected...and in that particular test it wasnt about hitting a target, may be about communication with missile, new engine, new fuel, new sensors,or something else..
But explaining that to 'jantaa' is difficult, thats why a blanket term used.
