Rafale is not a Game Changer - Senior Analyst Shahzad Chaudhry

Haha Scalp for Balakot strike. Funny.. He doesnt know anything about target value.
A million dollar missile, made to hit herdened target, to strike a tents camp..... idiot indeed.

. . .
Very Comprehensive analysis by Vice Air chief Shahzad Chaudhry.
How the hell just one squadron can be any game changer.

That said, for the first time in quite sometime, India will have a modern western fighter matching the kind of intense training they follow.

.
The Indians believe their future AMCA will be the best fighter aircraft ever made ... who are we to dispute their assertions? As if we have any credentials whatsoever in disputing Indian vedic logic :enjoy:

Just because IAF has a lot of accidents does not mean it has high training intensity ... this is the result of poor aircraft maintenance, inadequate training tactics, and the poor assembly techniques of HAL (Indian assembled Su-30MKIs have higher accident rates than those of Russian made).

Because this squad will be out of the Turkish fighters NEZ, when the Turkish fighters will fell in the Rafale one!

Unlike Turkey will have SU35 or SU57, with long range AAM, it will be the case. So it's a real asset for years.

And you can be sure that the final Rafale number will not stand at 18. It's only a beginning.

The Tejas is not what we can call a full full and decisiv success.... AMCA will probably be the best indian fighter ever made, but what about a bench mark with other world top fighters? I'm afraid. And I think so are the indian top brass...

India will get more jets from France before the end of this year. It's a big problem. Rafale is french technology, not Russian technology. I believe we have systems to detect this jet early that's why no problem for us but countries like Syria, Iran,Iraq, it's big problem for them. It's not over hyped. It's dangerous technology made to penetrate deep. I believe rafale is a serious threat.

Tejas is essentially India's low tier fighter. The stupidity India did was to over spec it and delay it for so long. Should have stuck with engine and radar from reliable partners from the beginning. US engine and French Radar with private companies doing integration and production. That way, India would have finally got a fighter which was use European and American weapons. Though even current Israeli avionics and weapons are not too bad, just there are not enough numbers in current fleet. India wasted way too much time in development and didn't scale production properly.

You are right. They were over optimistic by trying at a beginning to produce a so small fighter (it's harder to make small than bigger) and to link it with a national engine.
At the end the bird is short leg, not agile as imagined, with a foreign engine and radar. Lack of realism.

As a Mig-21 replacement for intercepters, its not bad. As a modern multirole fighter/bomber, its not.

Given India gets into skirmishes across the the Pakistan border, its not a bad plane as its short legs are compensated by lack of depth in Pakistan airspace.

China is a totally different ball game and will require much better fighters and armaments.

.
Totally false.
I think the turkish people here are so angry against the Rafale sale to Greece that they made BS all day long.
??? No relevance to my comments.

If their is a shooting war between Turkey and Greece....there is no doubt about the outcome, Greece will lose. Rafale is like the Maginot line.... Impressive but will have no real impact on the outcome.

.
Yes agreed but paf stop thinking like fool and underestimate enemy IAF was idiot sending migs but next time they wont

We lack quality and quantity

Paf has to get stop gap jet project azm is 15 years time needed we musrmt consider twin engine jet

AMCA is minimum 25 years away, if not more. India is still reinventing lots of wheels. Plus, Indian state owned companies need a proper project management for their development projects. As such their projects are late even before they are conceived. So, we will know what and how good it is, when it will arrive.

Thing is, IAF is following a western training philosophy with a Russian platform like Su30 MKI. As noted by others (https://www.rbth.com/blogs/2015/06/04/why_the_indian_air_force_has_a_high_crash_rate_43501), IAF does an intense training year round to fight a high intensity high stake war. Unfortunately, their platforms are not designed for this kind of training philosophy. Su-30 MKI etc develop engine troubles and ball bearing faults early due to such regime. No wonder, with its low availability rate and accumulation of fatigue, IAF has hard time to keep its fleet in top condition.

Enter Rafale, the quintessential western omnirole plane with much better maintenance and way higher life span than Su30s or other Russian platforms. So, yes, IAF will now be matching their training and war fighting philosophy with a platform which actually supports it. It is a game changer in that sense but IAF need 200 Rafales in their fleet not just 18.
