Rafale Fighter crash near Pakistan

French jet crashes in Pak waters, pilot survives

PARIS: France’s Defence Ministry says a French Rafale fighter jet crashed into the waters off Pakistan after its pilot parachuted to safety. The jet was operating from the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, which is stationed in the Arabian Sea to support the fight in Afghanistan. The cause of Sunday’s crash was unclear and an investigation has been opened. The ministry said the Rafale plunged into waters near where the aircraft carrier is stationed, more than 100 kilometres off the coast of Pakistan in the Arabian Sea. The pilot was unharmed and was picked up by a helicopter. France has about 3,850 troops engaged in missions in and around Afghanistan. ap

So many Western powers with so much offensive combat equipment around Pakistan, from the land and the sea

For just "Isreal's Objective" and "Isreal's Protection".

So many Western powers with so much offensive combat equipment around Pakistan, from the land and the sea

maybe they are ment primarily for afghanistan, then iran and on wider prospect to chk china.

And what Israel has to do with this crash?

lol @ understanding skills...

my reply related to above person statement

"So many Western powers with so much offensive combat equipment around Pakistan, from the land and the sea "

So Pakistani Aerospace isn't friendly for French aviation anymore....

Just recently the PN asked the USN for help to raise an artifact - so it would seem that the PN does not have such a capability, though I imagine that to some engineers, it it would have been rather useful to have had a some quality time with those engines and avionics suite

~2500 meters deep if we assume it went down ~100km from the western Pakistani coast, but if it's to the east then it's ~500 meters.

found this info somewhere

You think the french would let you? :P.. back in the 80's a US navy F-14 rolled of the deck of a carrier into the ocean..they kept warships deployed there till they finally blew the thing to bits using depth charges.
But then again .. they are the french..they probably will let it sink the bottom..better things to do..like use TGP's to find snails for escargot Oui!

Rafale crashed in pakistani waters pakistani might try to steal som technology but french never gona let that happend and aricraft carrier is there for afghanistan not in pakistani waters the arabian sea is also for UAE where french hav thier permanent base in the area so no threat to pakistan but it might might impact on indian MRCA mut this accident hav nothing to do with MRCA tender bcause Superhornet mig35 or typhoon one of these gona win not rafale not f16 not jas39

Hello guys, just thought that you needed a French PoV.

Yes, the Marine Nationale has already begun plans for
recuperation of the aircraft.
No, we we're not attempting an attack on Pakistan:no:
Yes, all planes crash, as long as you use them seriously
that is.
What infos are available so far seem to indicate that :
A-) something went wrong soon after departure for
a support mission for troops in Afghanistan;
B-) the pilot might have thought of derouting to a ****
airbase but did not;
C-) he brought the plane back to the CVG and ditched
near the CdG;
D-) he was picked up safe by the security detail helo.

That seems to indicate a problem with carriage, "emports"
in french. If the problem was motor related he could either
land safely after dropping weapons or fuel tanks or
not get back anywhere, ship nor land if bad enough.
If the problem was controls related, an unlikely occurence
on a Dassault plane when one knows that they are over
the million hours mark of CDVE [ electrical flight controls ]
without any major mishap, a modern fighter without them
is an impressively uncontrolable brick *.

So we can assume that a bomb or tank was improperly set
and as such, the plane could not be SAFELY landed
neither on deck nor at a friendly land base.
I hope that was clearly explained.

Of course, had the pilot asked for emergency landing in your
country and that unhooked bomb had come loose on way to
the landing strip, France bombing Pakistan would have been
an issue! :flame:

Salut, Tay.

Who picked up the pilot?
What helicopter was used?

Normal complement from Flotille 35F would be
2 Dauphin PEDRO and 1 Alouette III.

They still use the old Alouette because it works
as well as the new helos but burns less fuel for
non-intensive applications.

I will come back to you on that if I find precise infos, Batman.

Tay.

P.S. Off-topic to santro : First snails are real easy to catch!
Second, i'm still puzzled myself by other culinary delights.
Artichokes for instance! How hungry do you have to be to think :
"Hum! Maybe if I rake the fleshy parts off that ugly plant with
my teeth, I'll have myself a meal." ????
