HmmmM.....to be honest im skeptical about this news. Though we have forces/base in the region, to shut down Russian jets is going a little bit too far. Why should we shoot down their jets meanwhile our own fighter jets and even special forces are in Syria as well?
Moreover , we are already bringing down their economy with our current sanctions . Why start fighting meanwhile we can bring them down without fighting? The best way to cripple a country is to decimate its economy, that's far more effective than stating a war which will only complicate things and make us spend more of our resources into fighting a war which we can not only avoid, but win without fighting . The only way i can see our forces and NATO in general doing such a thing will be if Russia starts a full scale war with Turkey.

So forgive me but im skeptical about this news. Think maybe its just a diplomatic statement to caution Russia against consistently violating Turkeys airspace.

UK jets have no right whatsoever to be in Syrian airspace in any case. The Russian jets have authority from Assad to be there, the UK jets do not, so Assad has authority to shoot down any UK jet that violate Syrian air space under International Law.

Look at the level of Russian debt to GDP and Uk Debt to GDP . Russian budget is way more balanced due to the Kudrin doctrine of the Russian financial ministry.

The Kh-90's or vulkans will make short work of any supercarriers. Well the fireworks will fly. Maybe the Mayan calendar was right ,2012 is the end. Looking at the current situation I think apocalypse is going to start . We will also have extinction level weaponry like superplague or smallpox-ebola hybrids being unleashed by Russian federation.

Its gonna be possibly the most interesting of times.

May be we will do it, maybe won't. But the decision lies entirely on us and no body else.
