UK jets have no right whatsoever to be in Syrian airspace in any case. The Russian jets have authority from Assad to be there, the UK jets do not, so Assad has authority to shoot down any UK jet that violate Syrian air space under International Law.
Go home kid. The legitimacy of assad is in question here. So maybe the rebels want UK air force to plough their skies.

HmmmM.....to be honest im skeptical about this news. Though we have forces/base in the region, to shot down Russian jets is a bit going a little bit too far. Why should we shoot down their jets meanwhile our own fighter jets and even special forces are in Syria? Moreover , we are already bringing down their economy with our current sanctions . Why start fighting meanwhile we can bring them down without fighting? The best way to criple a country is to decimate its economy, thats far more effective than stating a war which will only complicate things and make us spend more of our resources into fighting a wr which we can not only avoid, but win without fighting . The only way i can see our forces and NATO in general doing such a thing will be if Russia starts a full scale war with Russia.
So forgive me but im skeptical about this news. Think maybe its just a diplomatic statement to caution Russia against violeting consistently airspace.
Go ahead and do it. Be prepared for the consequences.
Russia has 1300 fighters
UK barely has 140
RAF should ensure that they have full US backing before they enter a shooting match with Russia, and by that I mean 4 American Supercarriers need to be stationed in Europe before NATO does some as stupid as Shooting down a Russian aircraft
May be we will do it, maybe won't. But the decision lies entirely on us and no body else.
