People are nice as long as they are within their comfort zone. Put them out of it and you get things like this. She was probably agitated being squeezed in the crowded subway and then the Chinese lady bumping into her only enraged her more. Most of these subway fights are due to the very nature of the train- dark, crowded, claustrophobic. In many cases, it is not that the person is racist, but he simply says things to hurt the other person more during a fight.
