On day one, Indian 'analysts' were claiming that Pakistan had 'bought' archers and adders off eBay or scored them via China and put them in the field around the fallen plane. No amount of posting the serial numbers will change their views now.

If international validation was the idea, there's not a single international publication that takes IAF claims on 26th and 27th seriously. They were a laughing stock for the entire international media on 26th and 27th Feb. And the so-called Asian Super Power is still trying to prove three holes in the roof of a building, one year down the lane, with no one taking their word for it. IAF was not expecting the thrashing they got, precisely because they expected Pakistan to just lay over and play dead, just like the numerous Indian members here and this will not change. It's been drip fed to them, over years to underestimate Pakistanis - which is only good for us.

In case of R73, as @Sine Nomine mentioned, It would serve as a sort of an auxiliary powering unit to steer the missile hence freeing/dedicating the solid fuel of the R73 to power forward.

Areesh - This will lead again to long conversation, so why go that path! Just publish the serial #'s and end the entire conversation on missiles. Then its up to IAF to defend its F16 shot down - till that happens its all imagination. After all the serial # conclusively established that its a PAK AMRAAM after which DGISPR was forced to change the statement to accept F16's were indeed involved on Feb 27th. Lets see if you PAF can force IAF statement to change.

PAF is openly making a claim that these are all the unused missiles from the Mig21 wreckage. You have the physical evidence in-front of you - disprove this rather than issuing more unnecessary RFIs here.

Once you even get those serial #s what do you aim to achieve then? Do we expect IAF or Russians to provide an approval “oh yes these are our missiles, as the serial nos show”, and on the contrary any denial would not be independently cross verifiable. So this is just a moot point - how ever the physical evidence is more important and something you are trying hard to ignore by starting this serial# discussion.

Check this out, looks like we all missed it. Also the only white thing from Mig-21 were its missiles and both R-77 were recovered in bigger parts. Now this is the final nail in the coffin for Indians myths about these missiles being purchased from Ebay since all of them were located from Mig-21 wreckage.

Yea we also cloned Abhinandan as well.
I guess there's 20 year difference between the two incidents not sure about the one that was shot down in Kargil, the one Abhinandan was flying was a highly upgraded the Bison version.

That the serial numbers don’t match with indian inventory and these missiles have been procured from black market. Don’t expect a shred of shame and acceptance from them.

sir, i believe we all missed to identify right wing R-73 wreckage which then made indians change their story from missing warhead of left wing r-73 to ebay purchased r-77 for left wing because it was not found with wreckage so thats why i posted the above picture.

Another point mentioned by Sir KT was that Abhinandan's Mig still had both it's drop tanks attached when it came down. The first rule of air engagement is to Jettison the drop tanks in order to make the plane more maneuverable, having both tanks attached means poor Abhi hadn't even caught his bearing when he got hit which means he was by no means in position to take aim and fire a missile.

I however feel that we have officially claimed shooting down an SU-30 and now we must present the proof. I was hoping DGISPR would do that today but he didn't.

Wrong. PAF stated that the F16's were not part of the strike package which is true. The JF17's were escorting the Mirage V's. The F16's were flying CAP duty that day. US inspectors have done a full audit of the F16's, and the armaments. Everything is accounted for.

Lets see if you PAF can force IAF statement to change.

PAF does not need to force IAF to change its statement, its absolutely toothless. To the people who matter, they know exactly what went down that day. Everyone has bad days, and that simple was a bad day for IAF. This is not to undermine the strength and the might of the IAF, it was just simply a bad day for them and PAF was better prepared. Simple.
