Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi

Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in a letter to his new Indian counterpart S Jaishankar on Friday said that Islamabad wants talks with New Delhi on "all important matters" and remains committed to efforts for establishing peace in the region.

Qureshi wrote the letter to Jaishankar to congratulate him for taking over as the External Affairs Minister.

Former foreign secretary Jaishankar assumed charge as the External Affairs Minister on May 30.

Qureshi told Jaishankar in the letter that "Islamabad wants talks with New Delhi on all important matters and remains committed to efforts for establishing peace in the region," the Dawn newspaper reported quoting diplomatic sources.

Tensions between the two countries worsened after the Pulwama terror attack and both the countries were almost on the brink of a war after India's military planes struck a terrorist training camp in Pakistan's Balakot on February 26 and Pakistan carried out a counter-offensive the next day.

Breaking the ice in bilateral ties, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on May 26 spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on phone and expressed his desire to work together for peace and prosperity in the region.

Modi on his part called for creating trust and an environment free of violence and terrorism for fostering peace and prosperity in the region.

India has rejected Pakistan's offer of talks, maintaining that terror and talks cannot go together.

They got unblocked pak airspace and now they said no again..Indian played with Pakistani foreign office..

. . .
Yet another shinny example of #Buzdarism @RIWWIR

This begging for peace needs to stop.

Nobody is going to give any brownie points to us.

There is no such thing as international community... it is only strategic interests...

By opening up the airspace to indians there is nothing left for indians to talk. Otherwise, they would have sent their foreign sec.

When will our policymakers understand simple Statecraft?

Indians DO NOT want peace or talks! No amount of begging is going to change that.

In the last 72 years they came for talks only when they had their hands tied..and after their hands opened they became indians again.

A wise teacher waits for the cold rains to come... so that the shivering student can enter his warm house!

Pak State needs to develop State Level policies independent of governments arrival and departures... all states do this except Pakistan.

I think that there is no harm in it. It is for facade sake, nothing more and it is the joint decision of civil and military; so they must have thought over it. In any case, one cannot have a very strong foreign policy; unless one has gained substantial internal strength, particularly in the economic sphere. Of course, nothing will come out of it.

I am Imran Khan supporter and he should stop this nonsense.
enough is enough.
f**k peace with India.
stop all flights immediatly, shut down Pakistan embassy in India and kick out Indian diplomats out of Pakistan close border and cut off all ties.
100% focus on Indian occupied Kashmir.

A wise teacher waits for the cold rains to come... so that the shivering student can enter his warm house!

That sums up the mindset of our foreign office and foreign ministers over the years, they are without any doubt impatient fools who don't understand the importance of the strategy of wait and grab the opportunity when it falls in front of you.

.
Just stop begging. Prepare few years to fight decisive war.
We r Pakistan after Zia where our society and soldiers will fight till victory or death.
Politicians don't have the guts.

Pakistani logic is interesting. If there is an official conversation, then all of em get riled up and say "hey hey, don't be weak". If India does that, calls India weak. begging, mercy etc... etc... what it has come down to.

. .
Pay back terror mata in same way they are doing within Pak, when they feel the heat of teir own game, they will cry for talks. pak is too soft Islamic teachings and ethics are not keep getting insulted and suffer in the hands of terrorist countries.
