Question for Indian Seculars: ... how are you going to tackle this Hindu Extremist madness?

.
You have already gone through muslims extremism, we are going at full throttle towards Hindu extremism... RSS with its Shakhas have pioneered in producing ill-educated zombies.

Sadly there are many among minorities who play into the hands of Hindutva extremism giving enough fodder to them.
Which madrassa did you 'graduate' from?

Last Loksabha election, as you presumed was not dictated by communal polarization. Rather, it was influenced by the promise of economic reconstruction, infrastructure development, corruption issues and better governance.

India is a too big democracy where the electorate can be divided on communal lines. Here still the landed semi-feudal class, large industrialists, small merchantable and peasantry class decide the election strategies and national policies and will continue to dominate vital agendas in future.

Most importantly, regional parties are quite strong in our federal structure which virtually diminishes every chance of India being polarized on religious lines.

No need to tax urself with the political circus of India,,which is primarily based on vote bank politics.Illiterate gullible masses know nothng better thn being swayed over bhagwan, allah, jati, biradri. No point sulking ovr it.
But thr is hope for the future,,athesim is growing in leaps n bounds,,in 50yrs situation may change.
It's not growing fast enough. We atheists need to get organized in India.I have personally converted 100 people to atheism or at least created doubts in there minds about God or religion.

Awww, arz kiya hai

Ibtedaae ishq hai rota hai kya
Aage Aage dekhiye hota hai kya

Very true. Zihadis used to think that things were going as per their plan but they suddenly found that Hindus are changing rapidly and they may not make India an another Zihadistan. So they are rattled and what frustration you see is result of that.

. . . . .
n Pakistan, we (the Seculars) have already lost the battle and there is no chance that Pakistani system is ever going to change from Religious to Secular one.

Who is religious in Pakistan ? head of state ? head of judiciary ? heads of armed forces ? head of ruling party ? head of opposition ? has law of Pakistan anything to do with religion ? why they still say Pakistan Penal Code 1860 ? where was Pakistan in 1860 ? How they lost battle against Seculars, when seculars are sitting on power seats ? where you found religion or religious in Pakistan in power ?

are you confusing Pakistan with Iran ?

.
In Pakistan, we (the Seculars) have already lost the battle and there is no chance that Pakistani system is ever going to change from Religious to Secular one. But:

1) Secular Forces in India are much more stronger than Pakistan.

2) Educational System in India is also powerful, and I am sure the numbers of people leaving Religion (i.e. becoming Atheists) should also be very high. And at the end, these Atheists will also join the secular forces instead of right wing religious parties.

3) India has a very big minorities population. 18% schedule caste, 14% Muslims and then Christians and Shikhs and others.
All these minorities are on the LEFT side standing with you instead of the Right Religious Parties.

How come that still the Secular Forces lost (and lost so badly) in India at the hands of Religious Parties?

What are the main factors of defeat?

What could be done in order to tackle this problem?

It's really saddens me to see the situation in India. If Hindu extremism increases in India, then it only brings more Muslim extremism in Pakistan. I wished India would have been a role model in this region for Secularism.

Pakistan was build on the name of Religion, So expect religious things in Pakistan. same as Israel.

don't be so rude on religions and God, it is the Religion which kept Humanity alive till yet..

what is Zihadis?

People of India are very much secular. It is the failure of congress that has given rise to the BJP.

mainstream liberalism is losing almost everywhere... the nehruvian secular liberalism was heavily borrowed from west and it did lay down fundamental structure for Indian state... it could not however change the fact that India is a 3rd world poor country divided along all imaginable lines.
I would not say secularism has lost in India, its in a retreat(will be for a decade or so), but overall I would still say we are better off than ever before when hindus will refuse to eat with muslims(different restaurants even).

mistake of noob atheists... thinking religion is source of the evil.. the main issue is identity, till we hold one identity above everything else, create group out of it and demonize other group.. we will continue to suffer.
a sizable number of hindu right wing leadership are closet atheists... (just like savarkar)

elections are about choices. Indians have voted for congress party for most of history. They have not delivered enough.

The BJP is like the PML(N). They are not religious in the sense - they are not calling for Manu or some antiquated law. I am ignoring the current madness on beef which is a non-issue for Hindus.

Everyone wants an Anglo-Saxon style democracy where they are the elite or they have power beyond their numbers. In a country like India with numerous groups it is a recipe for political jostling. For someone like the BJP playing the communal card is an easy way to win votes.
