Queen smashes whisky, gives her name to Britain's biggest warship

Uh yeah whatever the that means. How exactly does that work? You replace the U.S. that makes sure the sea lanes are free and is watched by India, trade actually increases because of that?
Number of aircraft carriers and other warships in the world will not decrease. They will simply go under other flags. So the decrease of power of America will not affect the safety of trade routes.

Air craft carriers are sitting ducks when it comes to fighting against asymmetrical means. Meaning if you disable people without even firing the conventional weapons, the job is almost done.

Those unconventional methods are agile yet small drones released from an unmanned ocean vehicle equipped with cutting edge laser...Imagine a size of a sparrow - Drones in tens attacking the personnel on board at any given time....The aeroplanes on the deck will be a nice museum at least.

Facial recognition etc used to make those drones...I think it makes sense.

Chinese anti ship missiles can only work at a certain distance. These vehicles can be anywhere in the world. They are autonomous!

The Ship looks magnificent. But it sounds funny that Britain decided to build it's largest ever Warships at a time when austerity measures are in place.
the agreements were signed before the crisis of 2007 and hence it was much more expensive for taxpayer to scrap the project. It wont be equipped with fighters till 2020 and UK is expecting to be in growth path (and significantly less debt) before that.

Here's a stunning time-lapse video of HMS Queen Elizabeth being moved from her dry dock to her fitting-out berth at Rosyth last week.

The team at the Aircraft Carrier Alliance managed to crunch the three-hour operation involving eight tugs and one 65,000-tonne leviathan into a video just 64 seconds long.
