Well the perfect place to live is in the house, skyscrapers in Jakarta is highly dominated by office buildings. Skyscrapers like in Jakarta is unavoidable since we have scarcity of land so business prefer to build tall office building to get many tenants.

Those building constructors simply want to make money from an artificial rush for skyscraper office buildings that was allowed by the government and followed by those who want to buy or lease office space. Indonesia is building a new administrative capital, yes ? Same way it can build high-quality, scientific and harmonious townships around Jakarta and relocate to there the office and residential population living in Jakarta skyscrapers. Please read down this post about my idea on how such a township can be like. The thread of that post is about cyclorotor-based skybuses and skytaxis.

Yes. And people refuse to see sense. Last year in Mumbai / Bombay there was a fire on the 19th storey of a 61-storey residential building and one person died. Somehow the others escaped. The authorities had to evacuate a shopping complex near this building. This is senseless construction.

Maybe it is due to lack of safety security inside the buildings

Sci-fi, is sci-fi, but Qataris have totally fantastic talent when it comes to evading contract payments, especially the govt, and govt owned/linked companies.

As majestic as both Doha and Dubai are, Shenzhen and Chongqing make even those two look old in comparison. @beijingwalker

China definitely has cities that can compete with these gulf cities and Shenzhen is a world-class gem

I don't understand why they wanna move out of Jakarta because it is quite an awesome city

Political decision, in order to balance Java and Non Java development. Making the country is not Java island centric, and also to tap huge Kalimantan island potency in renewable energy generation ( the islands has many rivers, big, medium, and small ) and also the fact that it is rich with raw material needed to make alluminium.

It needs 2 decades to build the new capital city and Jakarta will still be maintained as business and financial center of Indonesia.

Half of total Indonesian land is still jungle and majority of the jungle is in Kalimantan, Papua, and Sumatera island

This is in Central Kalimantan, not the location of new capital which is decided in East Kalimantan. The land to build the new capital is not yet populated.

Nope, we dont like federation. In the past we were federation but later become a unitary state. I think it is good for agricultural sector.
