Qatar agrees to terms for buying Typhoon, Hawk aircraft from UK

.
That might be the only reason I see that would make some sense, but it's a political purchase as we all know.

The Rafale is much better than the Typhoon, and when the F4 comes out it will also exceed the Typhoon tranch 4. Dssault's assembley line is not slow, it's just that they have too many orders for a single manufacturer which is probably why they're only committing to the 36 number per order. The Indians want the additional 36 but it might be a while before they sign the contract with Dassault for those or even start receiving them. Meanwhile, Typhoon is sitting idle. So I can buy the theory that Typhoon can produce them in a shorter time because of that reason, but that usually doesn't dictate purchases of such high-tech aircraft.
"Boardman hinted at a prolonged delivery schedule for the Qatari Typhoons, telling the parliamentary committee the deal will stretch assembly of the fast jet at BAE’s Warton site in northwest England to 2024. The current order book delivering jets to the Britusg Royal Air Force, Oman and Kuwait is set to end in 2022, he said."

I in

Buying 3 different 4th Gen jets with more or less same capabilities doesn't make military or economic Sense they should have gone for one of em in bigger number and demand tot setup of there servicing base inside country
It's like qatar is pleasing West so that it is evicted from Terrorism supporting charges
Would have been better Qatar joined Turkish tfx program
Qatar can barely have pilots and technicians for their airplanes..let alone ToT infrastructure.. all the three deals are politically motivated..Trump has accused Qatar of backing terrorism..first thing you know, Qatar quickly signs a deal for the F-15QA it was postponing.. France criticised Qatar.. the Rafales were ordered and now the same happened with the typhoons.. all of them quick deals.. Qatar knows how to buy Western political stances through economic ties.. but it had no other choice but to support some Western ailing economies.. it might become the "Singapore" of the ME militarily speaking..

.
Soon tiny Qatar will have more fighter jets than people let alone pilots.

Anyway once the current regime/people in power are removed and replaced by others, this is good news for the arsenal of the GCC and the wider Arab world. Those current-day clowns will not be able to attack anybody or defeat anyone regardless.

And they're gonna get cornered even more in the next few months to come.

If not already to a large degree bro.

That's actually not true, mate!

The Rafale contract is bonafide. Consider the weapons procured :

300 AASM-HAMMER
140 SCALP
60 Exocet AM39 Bl.2 Mod.2
300 MICA
160 METEOR
That's not an incredible amount but it's decent for a start for 24 planes?
Worse even is the consideration you made central to your argument :

Both Egypt and India sent/will send experienced pilots easily brought
to the level of main educators for local transformation of pilots.
Qatar had the AdlA put up a squadron in order to qualify 250 pilots
and the same is happening with technicians. First ones out next month!

And help for Qatar based infras have also been implemented.

That's over 10 pilots per Rafale, not a skimpy ratio, huh?
Unless were forming all of their pilots?

Have a good day, Tay.

o_O Put it in context of my explanation, mate!
Masr as a Rafale client vs Qatar as a Rafale client.

As for say the F-15s? Here you go :

Plus, I hear that you can rent pilots ...

Well, that is the whole question..ranting pilots, are they going to risk their lives in case of war for a country ranting them? Air force should be the most loyal force of any country.. this ranting of pilots looks like playing dice with a nation's defences..It is much better to have own pilots.. for Qatar that will come in due time in 4 or five years from now, they will have their first pilots trained on some of these new platforms.. they will be trained in France, the US and the UK, but then we won't see experienced pilots before 10 to 15 years from now..

No ranting for those fighter jets... and even less when use inlands...
Mercenaries, let's say the word... is mostly used for specific jobs, mostly outside the country...
If war came up... no merceneries will be usefull when equipement and infra are that small (Qatar)

UAe do use the services of Black water, like in Libya and Yemen, and even that it's "difficult" and not on critical equipment... (mostly formation/side assistance for loyal forces on the field.) "for "extra-nationals"

a lot of scalps and exocets for 24 fighters

I have a question in my mind - where the heck will they manage so many pilots from her tiny 300K folks???? Even with a population of 80m folks Turkey has got hard pressed to meet the required pilot-2-a/c ratio of ~2 after those FETO proxies were thrown out!!! India with 1.25b folks can only manage a ratio of 0.8!!!! Egyptians can't join because of the embargo. l think ex-PAF pilots are already there; can they now they send them by plane loads?????

Everything is possible. as for quality ...that's another subject...

LOL Razgriz!

From a 6 AlphaJets and 9 Mirage 2000s for fighter force now
to 6 AdvancedHawks, 36 F15-E, 24 Typhoons & 24 Rafales.

From 9 to 84, that's over a factor 9 increase ...
It's the QEAF's Birthday everyday these days!

Let's note that the above format is more than needed to
handle Iran so that one can picture that future threats are
found in the most recent Qatari strategic review.

We'll see, hum? Good day all, Tay.

Sounds more like ransom money Qatar is paying,
as did SiSi a few months ago.

Well, el-Sisi has the excuses of terrorism and a new role in the Arab League's QRF.
Qatar can't call the first and might face the second so ...

Good day to you, Tay.
