Does religion matter? We are now in the age of science. Science does not cause war. Science gives immortality. Religion on the other hand had been the #1 cause of war. Even Greeks fought for Ares the god of war.

Why did your title not say people then? Your title said Shia. Religion seems to only matter when it suits your agenda.

Because it is fact. They are Shia because that's how it is in the Middle East. Here in the West we don't talk about religion and religion is not an issue and most people are atheists. Middle East is still at a backward stage of development where religion dominates daily life.

And when the other person mentioned 200,000 sunni that was also fact. Sunni was part of their identity and the reason they were displaced forcibly was because of that part of their indentity not being tolerated.

As for "Here in the west" - your west is not unfamiliar to me. There are a thousand examples of how christianity dominates in the west.

For example, the week ends on Saturday and Sunday, both days of "rest" for judeo-christian communities. You still have state holidays for easter/christmas, even thinks like packets of crisps/chips expire on a saturday (ie the last day they could be sold before the christian sabbath). You cannot marry more than 1 woman, because it is forbidden in the christian faith, yet you can have a different woman in your bed every night if you wanted to. The Church in Canada is still overlooked by the Queen of England. In the UK senior members of the Church are entitled to sit in government and are given the title lord and allowed a position in the house of lords without any election.

Just because you people have stopped worshipping God, doesn't mean you are not controlled by religion.

I did not mention anything about Sunni in the title. This thread is about Shia being displaced. Shia is only like 2% in Syria. Fua and Kefraya are the only Shia towns in Idlib. As for Sunnis being forcibly displaced. True, it happens. Two wrongs don't make a right. The way forward is to embrace science. Science makes peace.

What are you talking about? It's not called Christmas in Canada. It's called the holidays. As for marrying more than 1 woman. That's just sick. It has nothing to do with religion. Mormons used to do that until recently. Atheist countries like China won't allow marrying more than 1 woman. Has nothing to do with religion. Has to do with decency.

hahahaha decency. You can marry men, bed animals (in Denmark), have a different woman every night, but to marry more than 1 is indecent...lol you tell yourself whatever likes, the inside of a persons head is the worlds best echo chamber.

I disagree with every single bit of misery that is being caused in Syria to anyone. They are all people and the most unfortunate thing is the engineered civil war in that country could have happened anywhere.

I just find your anti religious stance hilarious. Man fights over resources, blames god. Idiots buy that sh11t by the shovel load.

The SAA has taken Daraa. Next stop, Golan Heights.

Next target is Idlib. SAA does what Russia says. SAA is Russia proxy army.

Man fights over resources, blames god.

Science increases agricultural yield more than 100 times. Population exploded. That's not science's fault. That's the fault of people who cannot control their dicks. Science provides birth control. Stupid people don't use birth control. Science gives immortality with genetic engineering. Science cures cancer. Science makes short sighted people ditch glasses with laser eyes surgery.

Off with that dogmatic nonsense. Syria and Russia had massive disagreements for a long time over the constitutional reforms issue, the Kurds issue and Israel. SAA doesn't do what the Russians tell it to.

Russia proposed Syria constitution changed from unitary to federal. Federal countries each province elects its own governor, like America, Canada. Unitary states president appoints governor of each province, like Ukraine, Syria. Backward countries are unitary.

Yes and Syria refused it for a long time. Don't recall if it still does or not, but Russia doesn't tell its allies what to do the way certain other countries do. Not with Syria/Iran/Turkey, at any rate.

Syria is a sovereign country. Russia does not decide Syria's politics.
