I'd say either CMC or ACE.

. .
IF the Americans can import rifles, so can the rest. Personally if not for that annoying ban, I would love for China to go for some German guns to replace the qbz 95 and 03. The Germans are masters at making guns period.

.
The MCIWS is still going to be the MAIN assault rifle of the IA into the future under the FINSAS program but it is 4+ years away from entering service in large numbers.

That's not definitive at all.

And the 4+ years thing is your own estimate. MSMC, a simpler sub machine gun was introduced in 06, with all the redesigning and trials, it was ready in 2013-14. This rifle is much more complex.

The MCIWS ha already been undergoing field trails for 2+ years now with the IA, it's not going to take more than 4 years for it to enter service.

It's doing developmental trials. The first prototype came out in 2013. If they had a finished product, Im sure it would be going head to head with the other rifles.

Judging by MSMC, Excalibur, Micro INSAS, etc. we dont have a set number of years when it'll be ready.

Watch they ask MCIWS to be redesigned over and over again until it's too late.

. . .
And this is based on what kind of data?
If Indian formation requires other rifle rather than MCIWS then why not to provide TAVOR which is already in service with Special Forces ? why to make a tender for new rifle not to begain producing TAVOR with in India as they have license to manufacture don't they.

The IA wants multi cal capability. AFAIK the Tavors dont have it (yet)

.
I've already stated again and again the purpose for the foreign Multi-cal rifle and carbines is NOT to kill off the indigenous MCIWS or replace the INSAS in the entire IA BUT to replace the INSAS in certain select units- , RR, air independent airborne brigades and such (NOT SOFs though). The MCIWS is still going to be the MAIN assault rifle of the IA into the future under the FINSAS program but it is 4+ years away from entering service in large numbers. For the likes of RR waiting around another few years for a replacement to their antiquated AKs and INSAS is not acceptable.

The IA know what they are doing and unless you can make a valid case for these foreign Multi-cal rifles not to be inducted for these SELECT units, I'd advise you to keep quiet.

And you will be repeating this same statement of yours over and over and over again in the near future because quite regrettably,PDF Indian section has been filled with a bunch of nincompoops lately.

One is even suggesting the entire IA should standardise on two different assault rifles on a 50:50 basis!!Can you believe that??!!I mean seriously??!!How can anyone in his right mind expect a self-respecting army to commit such an act of lunacy??!!

As someone who has had some amount of play time with both, let me tell you that the problem with the msmc is not one of reliability. Its one of ergonomics. The gun has a terrible weight distribution, and should have been much lighter for the size, Its hard to point up. Nothing impossible, but for sustained periods where exhaustion comes into play, you're going to have troubles.
Its not small/light enough to be fired with one hand at short ranges either.

The mciws is a different ball game alltogether. For one, its not engineered by the ofb, but rather by Alpha tech Ltd., a private firm based out of bangalore i think. Only the barrel is made by the ofb, and is similar to the insas in certain terms. That shouldnt be a problem, because the latter has a beautiful barrel.
I've had to remove my video, as i was contacted by higher ups to take it down.
But as someone who has had a few chances to play around with it. Dont be fooled by its rather simplistic looks.
This gun is more ergonomical than a tavor, and easier to point than an ak.

A the moment of writing, 7 protoypes exist, and a sum total of ~12000 rounds have been fires under range conditions, with problem being due to faulty ammo. THe ia has a sure winner on their hands

You just gave us a lot unknown info there. You were that guy in the def expo? The one holding the Multi Cal rifle, giving commentary?
