One of the precondition for UN resolution for Referendum in Kashmir is vacation of Azad Kashmir by Pakistani forces .
Once Pakistan has done its due , India will follow the suit by holding Plebiscite in Kashmir .
Now the ball is in Pakistan's court !
For that you will have to get Aksai chin from China and hand over to India .
Now get to the task of getting Aksai chin and vacating Azad Kashmir first . Ok ?

Kashmiris express their loyalty in the state and national elections every four years.

BTW, UN resolution applies to Pakistani Kashmir as well, you know.

With or without the DK issue, it is unlikely that India would openly take a stand against Russia to please the US. Too much at stake. We even try not to take a stand against Iran if we can avoid it - and Russia is several times more important to us that Iran is.

Russian resurgence and regain some of its lost influence and US opposition and subsequent political defeat will further erode US power and strengthen Russian and encourage china to embolden its stand on various contentious issues.

The entire US dollar and subsequently its economy is hinged on the guarantee of US power, and any weakening of US power will further weaken the dollar. This matter is far from over. But Russia has already won Round one and round two.

DK will never matter in such important negotiations but US is certain to point to it and is certain to act in a manner that will reflect its displeasure.

We do take stands on matters that affect us directly, we are only ambiguous on matters that only have an indirect effect. Iran oil affects us directly so what we do not say is just as important as what we do say.

I reckon Putin is looking to play up the East vs. West angle by acknowledging that the eastern heavyweights, China and India, stand in his corner. There is a reason why he chose to acknowledge the two by name and going by the comprehensive western sanctions and boycotts heading Russia's way, Putin will have to increasingly look towards us for shoring up any significant support.
