until and unless Syrian military is built based on MERIT and PROFESSIONAL training, it will continue to be a poorly trained and corrupt military...if mister Assad continues to kill talent just because he feels threatened by talented officers and pushes brown nosers into high positions then it doesn't matter what type of latest equipment they purchase, they won't be able to hold up a candle even to a bunch of boy scouts!

T-62M has applique armor. Sufficient to fight rebels. T-62M can shoot AT-10 Stabber laser guided ATGM from a mile away. RPG-7 range is only about 200 meters. RPG-7 is no threat to T-62M.

They have about 100. By comparison, KSA has about 400 M1A2. However, they get more as Russia transitions to T-14 which is in serial production.
