Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed in principle to the sale of anti-aircraft missile systems C-400 to China, the newspaper "Kommersant", citing a source close to the Kremlin. At the same time director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Alexander Fomin confirmed that negotiations for the supply complexes China are ongoing. The decision to sell the complexes was made in early 2014.

Ongoing negotiations with China related to the number of complexes and their cost. However, even if a firm contract will be signed in the near future, get new C-400 Beijing could not before 2016. Earlier delivery of arms to China is impossible because first to be held most of the delivery of S-400, ordered by the Ministry of Defense of Russia under the current state armaments program.

The parties are currently discussing the possibility of delivery to China from two to four battalions of C-400, the structure of each of which consists of eight launchers.

I suggest China buy one S-400 Battalion from Russia, then our engineers can reserach it.

JUST ONE BATTALION TO LEARN, PLS ~!

@Martian2, I thought China was already worked on system equal to S-400+.

China is working on the HQ-9C.

However, we have seen China import equipment to conduct a forensic examination of a Russian weapon system.

China will combine the best features of the domestic weapon system and any worthwhile innovations of a Russian system to create a super-hybrid SAM.

----------
  • HQ-9 - TVM version SAM.
  • HQ-9A — Upgraded version, first tested in 1999 and service entry in 2001.[18] Chinese sources claim that the HQ-9 family of systems employ much newer computing technology than imported Russian S-300PMU/PMU1/PMU2 systems, because HQ-9 is developed more than a decade later, thus allowing it to incorporate advancement in microelectronics. Due to the superior computing capability for signal processing, data processing and guidance support, this missile can have an optional semi-active radar homing (SARH) mode, because more info can be processed on board the missile itself.
  • HQ-9B — reportedly tested in February 2006.[18] According to Jane's Information Group, this missile has a dual seeker that incorporates both SARH & imaging IR mode [21]
  • HQ-9C - Currently under development, incorporating active radar homing mode.

  • HHQ-9 — Naval version.[18]
  • HHQ-9A — Ship-borne naval version of HQ-9A. Eight 6-cell vertical launch silos, of cylindrical shape and using "cold launch" method, mounted on the Type 052C destroyer (48 missiles in total).[19]
  • FT-2000 - Anti radiation version that was the first model of HQ-9 family being completed.
  • FD-2000 - First revealed in the 8th Zhuhai Airshow, the export version of HQ-9, providing extra anti-stealth capability by incorporating YLC-20 passive sensor as an option.[20]

[Note: "Track-via-missile or TVM refers to a missile guidance technique which combines features of semi-active radar homing (SARH) and radio command guidance."]
----------

"It really depends on which version of the HQ-9 was offered to Turkey.

The latest HQ-9B version is actually a very advanced version which is better than the Pac-3 and the S-300PMU-2. The HQ-9B is almost comparable to the very effective ABM Israeli Arrow 2 missile. It has a dual mode seeker which gives it a very effective anti-ballistic missile capability. It uses semi active radar homing to tackle fighter jets and it uses an imaging infrared seeker to engage ballistic missiles at high altitudes. It can engage ballistic missiles at almost 50km altitude with this infrared seeker which means it can take on short and medium range ballistic missiles.

A more advanced version the HQ-9C is under development which will use a dual mode Active radar and IIR seeker and be the equivalent of the Arrow 2 missile. The HQ-26 which is the Chinese equivalent of the SM-3 will also be released soon. Yes, it is surprising but the Chinese have poured a lot of money into ABM systems and the results show. The S-400 is actually a scaled up version of the S-300. It uses a huge missile with a 400km range and also a huge version of the Tombstone active phased array radar with a detection range of about 600km."

The report is likely to be unreal and made up.

The reason is that the Chinese are developing the HQ-26, HQ-19, HQ-29, and HQ-8, and have already tested three of them.

HQ-26 was a counterpart to the Standard MIssile and its dual pulse rocket motor technology was tested recently.
HQ-26 Anti-Ballistic Missile Interceptor

HQ-19 is their equivalent of the THAAD, which was also tested recently. Photo here: http://tiananmenstremendousachievem...14/02/launch-of-hq-19-missile-intercepter.jpg
HQ-19 Anti-Ballistic Missile Interceptor

HQ-29 is their equivalent of the PAC3
HQ-29 Anti-Ballistic Missile Interceptor

HQ-8 is a 350 km range missile

how about we sell it to japan and taiwan too so you can learn some more

China won't go for anymore than a small purchase of the S-400 as it now has equivalent systems of it's own.

rom two to four battalions of C-400, the structure of each of which consists of eight launchers.

does this mean it will acquire only 4 C 400s, or is a ''battalion'' in larger numbers......

The russians won't sell. They're up to date with chinese shenanigans.

Dude, Chinese SAM systems are world-class now and the Russians won't be giving away any technology that the Chinese don't already have.

Maybe, the Russian's will sell S-400 and the Chinese will sell the HQ-9 SAM to Russia so they both learn from each other's technology.
