Politics is corrupt everywhere - just a matter of degrees...

You know the saying... power corrupts. True in California too.

But the level of corruption is a lot less, and there is no outright Chori and blatant siphoning of funds to overseas like we have in the subcontinent.

Plus there are too many educated people watching the political and government processes so things have to get done, hook or crook. There is a lot of accountability.

IMHO Baluchistan should be the sister province of California same land scape and weather.

Well not maybe everywhere. California has many distinct weather regions and even "Koppen Microclimates classification" regions. It is the most weather-diverse state in US.

I believe Baluchistan weather may be similar to the Red and Orange parts in the Southern California region (Palm Springs area falls within it). Which is also similar to weather in Southern Nevada (Las Vegas).

On the whole farming is done in the Central California valley - where it is very hot (95-100 deg F in the summer) but also a bit more humid than the Red and Orange parts and is shown below by Yellow and Beige parts.

The larger cities (famous for low humidity California weather - such as LAX, SF, Santa Barbara, San Diego) are all on the extreme coastal side facing the Pacific Ocean (light green parts of various shades) and have Temperate Mediterranean weather like in Italy.

Here is also the precipitation level (rainfall in inches). One can see that there is drought problem, but there is sometimes plenty of water in the snow capped mountains (Sierra Nevada) which is piped and channeled down to agricultural areas that need the water. There is water shortage (like at present) but water use is heavily managed and regulated.

Punjab and California Officially Declared Sister Provinces

In a landmark achievement for Pakistan and the United States of America, the California State parliament has approved a new bill declaring Punjab and California as ‘Sister Provinces’.

As per reports, the members of the House had discussed the one-of-a-kind resolution for declaring a development-based relationship between California and Punjab, and quite interestingly, no member opposed the bill when moved for a vote.

The bill was approved during an official visit of the Governor of Punjab, Chaudhry Sarwar, who also met members of the California parliament.
He mentioned in a statement that he was pleased “to meet Rep. Jim Costa and discuss ways of further cooperation between Punjab and California” for agriculture and technology-related projects.


In principle, a sister relationship is a formal declaration of friendship between two regions, states, or nations. In that regard, the State of California currently has 28 officially recognized Sister-State relationships around the globe, where developments pertaining to social, economic, educational, and cultural exchanges are facilitated on a regular basis.

California does not have a "parliament " only a state legislature
