Puerto Ricans treated like second class citizens

. . . . . .
This is stupid. PR are not treated any worse than any other minority.

. .
Well technically they ARE second class citizens. The 14th Amendment does not include territories like Puerto Rico. We’d have to change the Constitution to allow that. So Congress has had to enact laws giving them similar rights...but they aren’t Constitution based so they can be changed/revoked at whim. They can’t vote in the Presidential elections without probably a Constitutional change. So they aren’t “full” citizens.

Besides that guy is probably upset over talk of bailing them out of their $74B pre-hurricane debt.

The idea of US territories bothers me. The residents are US citizens but do not have full rights as US citizens per Constitution. Of course, they are free to move to any of the 50 states and get these rights just not in places like Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Guam, etc.

Two paths to resolve this issue: 1) give them their independence and they can become sovereign countries 2) give them statehood and all rights that comes with it including right to vote, representation in Congress, etc.

This is the colonial legacy. In fact, most country with colonial past did not give their colonial subject full citizenships during their colonial term, look at the like of Congo, Mali, and Hong Kong, US is actually pretty generous than most European Colonist, where they grant their colonial subject partial citizens (with freedom to move to US and all right preserved, once the subject move to 50 states) Something only US and Australia did in the past (Where the Aussie granted territories of Papua Australian citizenship with condition, the only different is Norfolk Islander to Australia, which Australia see them as full Australian, but Norfolk Islander see themselves as Norfolk Islander in their law, but I am not sure whether or not Norfolk can be counted toward a colony of Australia.

As for why these territories was not absorbed into US soil, that's because of multitude of issue, range from socio-economic structure, culture, governance and the will of the nation, and that is not just the will of the colonial people, but to the extend of the whole country. Almost unanimously, these territories passed law to allow the ascendant of statehood, the only thing blocking these move is the US Congress and US Constitution, that is why America don't have British/Spanish style national referendum.

I doubt that drunken clown knew anything about that, lol. He's just a drunken, racist pig clown who saw a defenseless individual to pick at. I bet you if you or I were wearing that shirt he wouldn't have been so mouthy lol.

Doesn't seem to say anything offensive so I'd have to go with your assessment.
I bet if it didn't say Puerto Rico on it he never would have known.

Yeah exactly lol. He probably would've went up to her and said "heeeeey, Texas rocks yeeeaah!" while he spit and slurred and drooled all over the place.

And how about that jackass cop?! He's watching what is such an obvious aggressive verbal assault that could've turned ugly and walks away? Good thing he resigned.

This week has been full of the really crazy and angry stuff. Like the black guy who was chillin' at his own condominium's pool and was asked to leave by some white chick LOL! Then when he shows her his key, she calls the cop and a chick cop shows up and also insists on him leaving! This was last week's viral video.

Then the black kid at the public pool (and this kid wasn't a ghetto punk either) that got slapped in the face by some disgruntled white lady? Did you see that? She's in the slammer for assault and battery loool. I think that was yesterday's viral video.

How about the two female cops that got suspended yesterday for flipping a coin to determine whether a woman who was speeding should be arrested or not? They didn't have a radar but they noticed she was driving very fast in the rain so they couldn't give her a ticket because they didn't bother clocking her exactly (and she wasn't ghetto either loool) so they went back to their cruiser to check her license and she was clean, so they flipped a coin and tales was "arrest her" and so they did. Their body cam footage is all over the news and they're suspended. I mean, I support the cops for their tough job and all, and most of them wouldn't do such a stupid thing as a coin flip to determine an arrest, but inconsiderate clowns who abuse their badges like these tough bitches I have no sympathy for. Just crazy stuff happening a lot more regularly lately.

There’s somebody infront of me right now with a huge package of “Puerto Rican Bread”.
