PTI's wrong Plan: New Provinces in Punjab, but Karachi needs not to be made a province

Making Karachi a province is another Kalabagh Dam controversy. Best avoided. However, the people of Karachi should be given rights as were given by Musharraf and then you saw Karachi prosper. PTI needs to win interior Sindh and get rid of PPP waderas.

What rights MQM supporters don't have?

.
Do you agree with Imran Khan's vision where he is saying we need more provinces in Punjab, but Karachi needs not to be made a new province?

Am I missing something here?

Even if Imran Khan get seats from Karachi (while agencies did punctured MQM), still I don't see such success to long last.

If the problems of the people of Karachi are not solved, then sooner or later they will vote for MQM again, and responsible for this will be politicians and the establishment which didn't provide them with good enough alternative option.

We need atleast 5 new provinces in near future.
South Punjab province
South Sindh province
South KPK province
Makran province
Gilgit-Baltistan Province

What rights MQM supporters don't have?

IMHO, Karachi city administration should be given complete responsibility for Education, transportation (Bus and Train), water, electricity, sewage and garbage pickup.

It was NOT elective choice. It was forced creation by a brutal use of force of a imperial power from Europe.
You could say whatever you want today. But the reality of those day was this that Sindh or Punjab were going to get the independence from the British Empire without the COMBINED struggle of whole India. And this same COMBINED who India gave majority vote against the creation of Pakistan, but still Pakistan was created on the bases that a community is allowed to take it's affairs in it's own hand and should not be ruled by the outer Majority.

Can you imagine the people whose province you want to divide had not voted for Pakistan in 1947? Your backside would still be enjoying Hindu hospitality.

First you imagine that without the campaign of the people of these Indian provinces, there would have been no Pakistan and you would have still been a part of majority Hindu India.

And now understand the sacrifice of the migrants. Not only that they left all their homes and properties in India, but also that half of their families are still in India and they are the ones who not only have to bear the burden of being Muslim, but also have to bear the hatred of Hindus for creation of Pakistan. I hope you are not blind enough see the sacrifice of these people and keep on claiming as if it is Ihsaan of present Pakistan to accept the migrants.

Show some regard for the Sindhi's.

Off course. But at the same time you show some regard to the sacrifice of the migrants too and don't try to be rude to deny their contributions and you have to accept them as the son of the soil too, which still has not happened from Sindhis or you.

They have equal rights to Pakistan as you or the Sindhis have.

Or you want to act like Jewish migrant settlers in Palestine?

Here we go. You have shown your real mentality here where instead of accepting migrants as the son of soil, you are considering them as the illegal Occupier as Zionists.

This is a mental disease of yours and you have to overcome it and accept the Pakistani migrants as son of the soil, having exactly equal rights to the land of Pakistan as you or the Sindhis have.

They came. They saw. They carved. They took over.

False mentality.

They got the right to come. They have the right to take their affairs in their own hand. They have the right to not to remain a slave of people of interior Sindh. They have the right to develop Karachi and they have the right to get rid of the control of Wadayrahs of interior Sindh who converted whole Karachi into garbage and usurped all the rights of the local population of Karachi.

Moreover, people of Karachi don't want to rule over the people of interior Sindh, nor they want to usurp any of their right of self-rule. They are only demanding their rights which is totally correct.

Frankly it is of no direct concern to me but if ever attempt was made to carve Sindh expect civil war to break out.

Extremist Hindus also threatened of civil war at time of the creation of Pakistan.
You don't have to threaten the people of Karachi and to compel them to stay as slaves of the Wadayrahs of Sindh, but you have to give them their rightful rights. A progressing Karachi is in best interests of Pakistan.
Otherwise sooner or later there will be a start of civil war from the side of the people of Karachi, which you may want to crush through killing and bloodshed, but again it will not serve for the interests of Pakistan.
Therefore, stop emotionally blackmailing the people of Karachi in name of civil war, but give them their due human rights.

.
Well said. Migrants as a rule should integrate. Not settle. Gain majority through migration. Then ask for division. If you follow that format why can't another ethnic group mass migrate to Karachi in numbers that they gain majority in part of the city. Then they ask for division.
which is the case with massive puktoon population where the IDP's who moved here due to war .. tommorow they can ask for a province as well ! who will be next than bihari wants a province .. urban sindh is better of being sindhi pakistanis than any thing else

The demand of Karachi province is not primarily based upon the ethnic lines, but it has been based more upon the administrative lines.

And it has also been based upon the JUSTICE line, where one community has been blackmailed by the majority and their rights have been usurped and their city changed into garbage by the non locals, who have all the control upon their affairs.

This is not going to work.

You have to transfer the powers to the lowest level.

Even the city government of Karachi should not have the right to spend the funds of Lyari, but only the representative of Lyari area should get all the funds for this area.

And Pashtoon also have their areas in Karachi. And their representatives should get the fund of those areas.

Problem solved.

PS:
People of Karachi has no problem to stay as Sindhi Pakistani. Main issue is transfer of the powers to the lowest level so that they get rid of Wadayrahs of Sindh.
Just name the new province as Southern Sindh.
But question is, do the Sindhis of interior Sindh accept them as as New Sindhis and ready to hand over their fate in their own hands?

.
Sindh pre-existed British India. It was the British who invaded it in 1843 and the Sindhi's fought ferociously to keep their Sindh independent. At the Battle of Miani they [Sindhi] lost to the British Army but all the accounts I have read show they fought like lions with swords and old guns against British Army. The battlefield was strewn with their dead. But they fought to death.

Therefore Sindh has a history. The British after they conquered it attached it to Bombay Presidency. Later the Sindhis got their province back when it was detached from Bombay. The British saw the geographic location of Karachi would make a ideal port that would have the entire Sindh, Punjab, NWFP, Kashmir as hinterland. The port grew and become of one of the most developed, cleanest cities in Britsh India and it attracted people from afar. Jews, Parsi, Assyrians, Europeans as well as from within British India.

In 1943 Sindh assembly under GM Syed passed a reslution for joining Pakistan thus becoming the first province to do so. In 1947 GM Syed's Sindh took million of refugees from India. So your thank you to the Sindhi's for taking you in their largest city - Karachi where they became a minority, is let's cut up their Sindh?

No wonder they get excited at that. Who would not? They are first to vote for Pakistan. They give their largest city to migrants. And today those migrants show gratitude by carving up their province??

Mmmmmmm ........
Sir,
first attack was carried out by balouch tribes out of their 2200 strength majority died in the battle field that day, total strength of British forces was 2800 personnel with 12 cannons against 30,000 locals .... official causalities of british forces were 39 dead 231 wounded while the locals number of causalities were 2000..

so our strength lies in unity rather than wasting times on differentiating our selves, British ruled sub continent using local's social differences and took them one by one .... this is a reason i am against the idea of divisions of provinces upon the basis of language, sect or race ... pakistan should have district and divisional local govts under one strong central govt.

.
Keep in mind few things.

Karachi is like only proper city of Sindh. Sindhis will soon make majority there. Its inevitable, latest census already show trend. As they are majority in Sindh and are migrating to Karachi.

So best solution is complete devolution of powers to local government in Karachi.

I watched show of some PPP politcian, she was honest. She didn’t say that you cant divide mother Sindh etc just that Karachi is only relatively developed city in Sindh. And Sindh need Karachi for that reason.

.
Just as I said, you people have not put any good enough alternative choice in front of people of Karachi, and as a result you will see again MQM even if temporarily PTI wins with the help of the establishment.

Just as I expected, now PTI is running away from facing MQM on the issue of Karachi. This is a total failure on the level of leadership of PTI where they didn't adopt right policy for Karachi.

PTI could not run forever. At some point they have to face it.
Other option is help from the establishment in the polls, but that will again prove to be a temporary solution.

only thing which is now stopping me supporting the sindh province is they allowed mohajir in and we should become sindhis rather than splitting sindh into half

New
Provinces should be more about ease for people and administration and not ethnicity who gives a f677 about mahajir, Sindhi Pathan, Punjabi

Other options is keep current and make local bodies empowers and no one would care

National and proviencal assemblies are
Legislative Bodies and its local bodies responsibility to help with basic necessities in true democracies

.
sindh should be divided into four provinces and Karachi into 4 cities and each part to be made part of each of 4 provinces so that economy of any new province is not left behind.

I think i do agree with you, the senior leadership of PTI is less interested in Karachi because PTI is a Federation Party and not a party of a single city. PTI senior leadership's sights have always been on Punjab, because at the end of the day to form government in the centre, one needs to win from Punjab. Even if you sweep from Karachi, you cannot even form the Provincial Government let alone Federal. But then again, PTI cannot specifically focus on Karachi because PTI is a Federation Party and MQM is a local party that only represents Karachi. While PTI is focused more on national issues, MQM is only focused on local issues. PTI does has a chapter in Karachi that focuses on issues related to Karachi, but then again entire MQM focuses on Karachi because that's all they care about.

Instead of inviting Naeem Ul Haq and Asad Umer who is running from Islamabad, they should have invited participants from PTI Karachi. At the end of the day, MQM Pakistan will have to answer for the target killing, bhatta khori, badmaashi, kidnapping and rape of Karachittes. This is why i expect PSP to win majority of the seats, with PTI, PPP and MQM Pakistan taking token of the seats.

The opposite is happening.

The creation of Karachi Province has already become necessary upon the bases of Administration, but DENIAL of making it a province is on the ethnic bases.

It worked during Musharraf time, but this time it is not going to work.

During Musharraf time, Police was Karachi was not under the command of Sindhi Wadayrahs, but it was very much under the influence of Musharraf, and he was bringing good changes in the Police system.

Today, if you leave the Police System and many other departments still under the PPP Wadayrahs, then for sure we will see the massacres in Karachi between the 2 communities, as we watched them under the PPP era.

In no way Zardari/PPP Wadayrahs will let mqm led city government to have peace in the city.

It will prove only a recipe of disaster if Zardari/PPP would get the right to interfere in the Karachi through Police and other Government organisations.

.
Sindhi have already been made minority in their own land, now some people want to take their identity as well so they rebel..lol

I am Karachiite, i think local govt system of Musharraf is right step for Karachi.

.
In Simple words there is no way you can divide Sindh. We Sindhis wont allow that ever, Our forefathers lived here. We cant even hear someone talking about Sindh division let alone watching it to happen.

@Kaptaan are you Sindhi ?or may be you know us very well.
