first of all, daily wage is hardly enough for self sustainence, do you even known how th daily wage salary has fallen because of economic crisis in pakistan? what has imran khan done about it?

Salaries are going to drop, and people will lose their jobs, because of less demand from Pakistan's export markets.

Pakistan's top export markets are in places like Europe, the US and Middle East all of whom are either suffering from lockdowns and/or low oil prices this can result in a loss or reduction of remittances from overseas workers along with income people made working in businesses that exported goods and services abroad. When those incomes go so do a host of jobs in the services sector because now those people and their families aren't going to restaurants, buying cars or televisions from big box office stores, etc... nor are those companies buying raw materials and other goods locally.

What can Imran Khan to do about that?

There's no way to "generate demand" in those markets and I warned about this back in 2010-2013, if you want the posts I can link them for you. This weird focus on export oriented growth instead of dominating the one market we have complete control over, Pakistan, by focusing on import substitution and local investment was a mistake. I kept saying that but we had some on here who wanted to give MFN status to India because... secularism, modernism.

We need to be blaming the PML-N and PPP for doing less than nothing pushing policies that, like Musharraf's economic liberalization programs, have devastated the countries economy. Imran Khan is a fool for signing FTA 2.0 with China but the fault primarily lies with the others up to this point.

If anything Pakistan should have re-instituted its tariffs except those on raw materials and capital equipment after the PML-N, under Nawaz Sharif, and Musharraf eliminated them in the late 90s and early 2000s then cancel Free Trade Agreements we've signed to earn revenue and reduce import bills and loss of foreign exchange. We need to start collecting income and property taxes and use that revenue to heavily invest in building good quality housing across the country which would create millions of jobs, result in the growth of a host of related industries diversifying the economy and allowing manufacturers to create goods on a market of scale competitive for export.

Just to give you a scale of what I'm talking about my estimate to eliminate the current, not future, housing crisis in Pakistan would require a state lead investment of at least $352 Billion USD maybe even more.

I have my issues with Imran Khan, I think he's a complete idiot at times but I agree with him on not instituting lock downs because I can't see how they're going to fix anything only how they would make things worse.

Look at India, it imposed a lockdown and though it may have 1/2 the per capita deaths from covid19 their cases are picking up with today being the highest daily increase in recorded infections:

Mind you Pakistan has 1/5th the foreign exchange reserves India has even when you take into account the economic disparity due to their much larger population. If India had some wiggle room to play with we don't.

Lock downs are a temporary way to stop the virus from spreading but when you have those who are asymptomatic, attribute the illness to a common flu so don't go to the doctor, refuse to report in to a doctor because of fear being isolated and unable to work to support their families, etc... then how can they succeed?

We know how this is spreading, from respiratory droplets when someone coughs or sneezes, so why not simply mandate by law the requirement to wear a face mask? Hand out free face masks on the street, impose heavy fines on people who don't wear one.

Again, this is up to every citizen in Pakistan to help fight. People need to wear masks, avoid unnecessary gatherings, wash their hands and maintain proper social distancing.

Economy Vs lives

Lives are dependent on the economy otherwise how do people earn money to buy food and how do you pay for the soldiers that defend your nations territorial integrity and dissuade acts of aggression, help catch perpetrators of crimes, etc...?

Lock downs don't make any sense for a country as poor as Pakistan. All lock downs are is an extreme form of social distancing, they don't actually "kill" the virus so when you re-open the economy infections and deaths start climbing again particularly if people don't precautions like wearing face masks, practicing social distancing, avoiding unnecessary gatherings, etc...

This is exactly what's happening in India after its 21 day lock down.

Western nations imposed lock downs NOT to defeat the virus but to slow down the spread of infections and prevent the healthcare system from being overloaded with the sick which would have resulted in more deaths due to a lack of PPE's and ventilators.

Sweden, which didn't institute a lock down, is only doing marginally worse than France and far better than Italy and Spain all of whom have ongoing lock downs.

Pakistan can't afford any of those types of measures, you need to live with our current reality not this imagined ability which we don't have.

The only way to "stop" this virus is to vaccinate, a vaccine does not exist and if there is one that's developed it could take 2 years for that to happen and be distributed, or people catch it and become immune to it preventing its spread among the population.

The impact of China locking down Wuhan, which represented a mere 4% of their population and GDP, in a country with a massive trade surplus and strong industries is nowhere comparable to the effects locking down an entire country like Pakistan with massive trade deficits and weak to almost non-existent industries would have.

If a picture speaks a 1000 words than a video should speak 1,000,000:

Few are wearing some kind of facial cover over their mouth/nose to protect others from respiratory droplets containing the virus, they aren't maintaining proper social distancing huddled together on busses and sides of roads or at markets and who knows if they're even washing their hands when returning home let alone have access to sanitizers.

We KNOW how this spreads so why wouldn't each citizen take personal responsibility over their own actions to limit the ability of themselves inadvertently spreading this virus?

You have people, like complete imbeciles, going to Sheesha bars to hang out with friends and then blaming Imran Khan and the PTI when they contract coronavirus.

What this tells me is that both the government but particularly the media has done a HORRIBLE job on educating the public about this pandemic.

The guy at 4:45 is saying EXACTLY what I warned in an earlier post people would likely think, that it's a common cold and considering the average age of Pakistan's population is quite young most infected will experience those minor symptoms while spreading it to the elderly who will face far serious consequences.

It would be a good idea for the government to partner with local media to spread awareness by showing videos of ICU's filled with Covid19 patients and how they're suffering, interview those who lost loved ones to the pandemic and depict their hardships and sorrow, etc...

People aren't wearing face masks, they're not practicing social distancing huddling together in markets and busses and I wouldn't be surprised if they're not properly washing their hands or have access to sanitizers.

Until the public understands the importance and consequences of their decisions they aren't going to act and even then it's going to require strict enforcement of fines because people pay attention when it hits their pocket book.

Pakistan was kept open to invite coronavirus to the country so ImranKhan could beg for aid for coronavirus.

I pray that nobody of your loved ones die or gets infected from this virus. Unfortunately people only see the bad when that bad reaches them. Seen it happen to many diehard Imran Khan supporters enthusiastic to help Niazi, when they were either taxed (looted) by FBR or their condition detoriated. Everyone around me is infected and dying. My whole village is sick. A person died just a few days ago when he was taken to Peshawar and the hospital rejected him saying there's no place.
