PTI to back peace efforts of PML-N: Khattak

Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf-led government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would provide all out support to federal government of Muslim League-Nawaz for establishment of sustainable peace in the country.

"The federal government is prerogative for holding talks with Taliban groups. We would also support any efforts of PML-N-led government, meant for bringing peace and stability in the country", said PTI designate-chief minister Pervez Khattak told reporters here at Civil Officers' mess on Thursday.

On the occasion, two independent elect-MPAs, Qalandar Lodhi and Mushtaq Ghani from Abbottabad also joined the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf. Flanked by PTI designate-Speaker in KP Assembly, Asad Qaiser, elect-MPA Shaukat Yousfazai, and Samiullah Alizai, Khattak said, "We would make all out efforts for restoration of everlasting peace and establish an ideal government in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa".

About the building consensus between coalition partners regarding ministries in KP, he replied that the matter was already discussed with the leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami and Qaumi Watan Party. About the excessive power outages in the KP, he said that there was a huge gap between supply and demand, added that the province total consumption is around 2,400 megawatt, while supplying only 1,100 electricity. He said that power outages issue was also top priority of the PTI-led government.

About presentation of budget for fiscal year 2013-14, he said the preparation has been completed to present a balance and people-friendly budget. About convening of KP assembly meeting, he said the session would be held on as per scheduled on May 29 next week. PTI designate-chief minister welcomed independent-elect MPAs for joining Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf. "We are trying to create a positive thinking for the delivery of better services to militancy-stricken people of the province, he added. We would give a practical shape to manifesto, through which it could be fully ensured peace, and stability at all costs, he reiterated.

Earlier, speaking on the occasion, the independent elect-MPAs Qalandar Lodhi and Mushtaq Ghani told the journalists that they had joined Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf, due to policies and commitments of the party chief Imran Khan with people of Hazara division. "We will move a resolution in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly for creating of Suba-e-Hazara, they promised. They expressed complete satisfaction over the PTI central and provincial leadership, and said that PTI-led provincial government would fully come up with expectations of the masses. The major issues, like law and order, electricity loadshedding and corruption, unemployment would be addressed they expected.

NNI adds: Meanwhile, Five newly elected independent MPAs of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly have submitted their applications for joining Pakistan Tehreik-e-Insaf(PTI) to Provincial Election Commissioner in Peshawar Thursday. They are Sameeullah Alizai‚ Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani‚ Qalandar Khan Lodi ‚ Farid Khan and Shah Muhammad.
