Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan announced on Wednesday that the party was taking action against 20 lawmakers for "participating in horse trading" during the Senate elections last month.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, the PTI chief said that the party will give the accused a chance to explain before their names are forwarded to the National Accountability Bureau.

Khan claimed that PTI, by expelling nearly "30 per cent of its leaders", was "truly protecting the sanctity of the vote" and wondered if other political parties will follow suit.

The names of the PTI lawmakers who are suspected by the party leadership of "selling their votes" include:

"This is not the first time lawmakers have taken part in horse trading," Khan said. "This has been happening for the past 30 or 40 years."

The PTI chief said that the accused lawmakers had received as much as Rs40 million each and added that the party will issue a show-cause notice to them.

Khan lauded other members of his party who "resisted the temptation" to take large sums of money offered to them by other parties.

Last month, Dawn.com had learned that at least 17 PTI lawmakers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa allegedly sold their votes during the Senate election enabling two PPP candidates to be elected to the Senate from the province where the PPP only has seven MPAs.

An initial investigation ordered by KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak into alleged horse-trading had revealed that at least 17 ─ and as many as 20 ─ PTI MPAs in KP had voted for candidates outside the party, sources in CM House Peshawar and Bani Gala had told DawnNewsTV.

Dont waste your time. I have already tried and even asked to provide a single quote where he justified the actions of taliban or even promoted them as thats what he accuses imran khan of doing but he wont because he cant

You lived under the rock when TK used to defend TTP?

I have asked a million times to show me a single quote where IK either justified actions of Taliban or even defended their actions. But you havn't provided any. So no i wasn't living under a rock but you had your head in a place where the sun doesn't shine.

CM Punjab want TTP to spare punjab vs Taliban Khan fully justifying their suicide blasts.

Again no proof as usual

IK for a decade has been saying only reason TTP is killing is because Pakistan/Musharraf joined WoT. And all Pakistan have to do is stop nato supplies bla bla and TTP will stop their bomb blasts. Fully justifying TTP anti-state stance and terrorism.

You seriously have severe comprehension issues. For any illness you diagnose the cause and then you find a solution to cure it. That is exactly what he has done, how does that equate to justifying TTP stance?

They couldn't care less about NATO supplies as IK found out after blocking it for months. Waziristan had became hub of terrorists with full backing of local people and only option left was full blown military operation which kept getting delayed because of people like IK who was confusing the nation with his pro TTP statements.

You have no clue what you are talking about. TTP had no backing from local people, the local people were held hostage by them, talk to someone from that area before spreading nonsense here.

And don't blame IK for the delay, he was part of the All party conference which was included your beloved Nawaz that had unanimously accepted talking to TTP before fighting.

As for blocking the NATO supplies, that was done in retaliation of them bombing civilians in FATA. Every single party had demanded the cease of drone attacks, and only Imran Khan was man enough to atleast take some action.

Anyway you are still evading the question, show us a single quote where IK either justified or defended actions of TTP, but i know you won't because his pro TTP stance is only in your head.
