PTI ‘decides’ to disband Ruet-i-Hilal committees at all levels

Anyone religious preacher who claims that he knows more and that what he says should be followed. Our mosques are full of such characters who claim that if we don't perform certain acts in a certain way the destination is hell. These people are fear sellers.

Bro in Pakistan mufti can not become like having beard and namaz ka nishan on for head and he will be called mufti NOO.

Not every Mullah is mufti. When I say Islamic Scholar I always meant Mufti

You will become mufti after years of Islamic teaching according to sharia law and when you learned all that then you will be awarded

Please check how one can become mufti

In the name of Allah, the Inspirer of truth,

A mufti could normally be defined as someone well-grounded in Islamic law who has acquired the ability from qualified teachers to issue formal legal rulings on matters concerning Islamic law.

Reaching this status normally requires that one study the principle books of fiqh, usul al-fiqh (principles of jurisprudence), books of fatawa (legal verdicts), and other related subjects, and then sit with muftis and practice researching issues of fiqh and providing answers to them with reference to the source books. Studies in other Islamic sciences are also very important: for instance aqida, tafsir, and hadith, since many fiqhi questions involve these subjects and a mufti is oftentimes required to have deep understanding of these sciences too.

In the Dars-e-Nizami system of the Subcontinent, the Mufti course is normally pursued after completing the Alim course (6-8 years). The Mufti course minimally takes between 1-4 years depending on the institution or madrasa. However, all this means is that the madrasa will provide the student the permission (ijaza) to issue fatwas after completing the course if they determine that the student has gained sufficient expertise in doing this. It is then up to the person to continue furthering his research and keep abreast of the various fiqh texts and fatawa and provide legal assistance to people who need answers to the more subtle and deeper issues of Islamic law. Some scholars who have studied Islamic law well (for instance through the Alim course or such) are also able to provide answers to many legal questions, even though he has not completed the Mufti course. Over time such scholars develop a proficiency in this reward and come to be accepted as scholars who can issue legal opinions. This was predominantly the case in the past and is still the case in many countries today.

However, a scholar becomes a good Mufti by continuing to answer and research issues of fiqh until he develops a great insight into these matters and fiqh becomes a second nature for him.

In some countries, they will only grant the title of Mufti to the scholar who has been placed in the official position of Mufti in the city (e.g. Mufti of Damascus) or the country (e.g. Mufti of Egypt), even though other scholars in the area may also have similar or greater ability to issue formal legal opinion but will not be given the title of mufti.

Hence, in your case after you have studied American law (or while studying it) you can begin to study fiqh and the other Islamic sciences and then advance to the higher books of fiqh full time in a madrasa or with a proficient Islamic scholar. This will insha' Allah grant you the ability to eventually become a mufti.

And Allah guides whom He wills.

Now please tell me how one mufti is equal to papu pan wala in term of Islamic Knowledge
Thanks.

Exactly. Iblees prayed more than the angels yet his arrogance was his downfall.

Surah Asr sums all up beautifully what we muslims should do. And Allah knows what is in our hearts (i.e. intentions).
Agreed. I've even heard mullahs say that if you pray but don't your your pants above ankles then your ankles shall be dipped in hell fire... does common sense say that this is what a merciful Allah would do to someone who went to his house to pray to him? dip his ankles in hell fire because he prayed to Allah without exposing his ankles?

these are the kinds of statements atheist islamophobes use to malign Islam. sometime I wonder if these mullahs are actually with the atheist islamophobes behind the curtains giving them ammunition to bad mouth and malign Islam...

I see those are wrong but doesn't mean every Mullah is like them.

Why they ask to put your pants above ankles? what is the reason behind this?

the reason is HUMBLENESS! 1400 years ago, people drunk on their wealth and power used to wear long fancy gowns and would have slaves carry the slack behind them to show their nobility. So Huzur e Pak s.a.w.w. did their opposite, wore his gown above his ankles as the opposite of those who showed royalty. Today, no one wears gowns. Today, people where expensive, designer name brand ties and suites to show their royalty and richness. If you REALLY wanna follow the sunnah then do the OPPOSITE of what the rich and royal do today...don't buy and wear designer name brand clothes, wear simple clothes, inexpensive clothes.

.
In the times of our Prophet, even if moon was sighted in Shaam, the new month was observed in Hejaz. The reason was that eyewitness of moon sighting is needed even if its in any part of the world.

You dont have to see it on top of your head. Here the fitna-gar mullahs in order to be relevant, have put this condition that moon be sighted only by them. Even if there is eyewitness account coming from FATA, they dont accept.

In those days Shaam (present day Syria, Israel,Lebanon and Jordan) was very far from Hejaz.

.
I take it as positive step but consultation with Ulema should also be taken into consideration. Scientific evidence is not enough as you also need eye witnesses to declare Eid etc

We do not want to see further division for such matters as many people would like to see eye witnesses before accepting the decision of PMD
Unity is more important than the methods. I am sure they will look at all things.

oh really? only a molvi can right history? a historian or anyone from any walk of life can't write historical records? oh and by the way, if only historical records produced by molvis are valid (as you are implying) then care to clarify WHICH firqah's molvi has the correct history? we wouldn't wanna follow the history from a molvi of a deviant firqah now would we?

Ulema Su and Ulema Haq.

Also a student of Deen doesn't automatically equate to being a good a Muslim. A hafiz was the robber of my brother's house during that he held a knife to the women folk.

Yes Muftis study for years. I know a few very humble and good ones and a few money hungry ones selling religion and these advise people to learn to learn a lot of other stuff before even opening Quran! There's a stark difference of approaches and the scaremongers are more prominent and visible in our society.

So an honest muslim pan wala, in my humble opinion, is better placed to give sound advice than a highly educated Ulema Su!

Its up to you but for life problem if you want islamic solution one with sense will always go to mufti rather than Pan Wala. You want to go to Pan wala be my guest as I said if we want treatment from doc we seek best doctor. Same goes for engineer but when it comes to Islam Papu Pan wala zindabad and rest of the world is fool to study years to become mufti.

I have read history sorry sighting moon with eye has to be done birth of moon is not the deciding factor come on stop trying to change religion
A communication channel (mobile application) can be established to capture and provide evidence of moon sighting through eye contact to the relevant body from any sector of Pakistan, to fulfill the criteria of eye-witnesses in this matter. Muslims around the country, irrespective of their status, can be encouraged to do the needful. The Ulema can join the process, but they should be subservient to the relevant body as well.

The relevant body can decide when to declare Eid-al-Fitr and Eid-al-Adha for the entire country. Otherwise, people will continue to celebrate both Eid-al-Fitr and Eid-al-Adha on different dates within Pakistan because the Ulema cannot get their act together. You want this to continue? Who is celebrating these events in the right manner then?

That body is Ruhat e Halal Committee if state think dismantling it would resolve the issue of Mufti Popalzai than they are dead wrong. He would keep doing fasad. Problem is not Ruhat e Halal committee problem is state is not dealing with the matter.

I would not go to a Deen selling mufti, I would go to those who advise without payment. Young Muftis I meet up with have their own businesses for earnings but have become Muftis due to passion so the greed/money making element is missing from the advice and knowledge they pass on.

People should be extremely careful who they go to for advice, in anything from religious matters to financial matters.

Studying Deen to make money from people - that for me is unacceptable.

Quran and Sunnah is enough for most. Gift of knowledge and wisdom are from Allah, even a highly educated person can be a jahil and a lesser educated person can be very wise.

An able person should always start with Quran, before heading to any mufti or molvi. Quran is for Mankind and Allah speaks to all directly through Quran.
