Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Team coach Mickey Arthutr on Thursday has claimed that Pakistan Super League third edition (PSL) did not produced any talented batsman as compare to number of good bowlers’.

“PSL produced quality of good bowlers but didn’t found any promising batsmen,” he said while addressing a press conference in National stadium Karachi ahead of West Indies series.

Commenting over selection of Kamran Akmal and Muhammad Hafeez he said that Kamran is a good batsmen but he is not a good fielder and in presence of Sarfraz Ahmed as a wicket-keeper his place is not possible in the squad.

“If Hafeez is bowling that’s good, if not then that’s a problem for us. Kamran was given chance in series against Windies last year, but he didn’t proved himself,” he added.

The coach expressed his excitement at having more young blood in the squad in the form of Asif Ali, Hussain Talat and Shaheen Shah Afridi.

He said that Pakistan has a good bowling attack but the concerning matter is for not having any talented batsman.

WestIndies team will arrive in Pakistan on Saturday evening for three T20i matches scheduled from April 1-3 at National Stadium Karachi. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday announced the 15-member squad for upcoming Twenty20 (T20i) series against West Indies.

I agree with him, did not see any good or promising batsmen in PSL-3, They think Asif Ali can deliver but what I have observed about him is that he lacks a professional approach.

what professionalism you are looking in t20. If you can hit six you are worth it and that guy hit 3 sixes i think when needed. You only need a moment to bcome hero for nation in T20 game

Still they have to plan and execute as per the situation requires, he hit 3 sixes that's all he did and because the bowlers are not smart.

its not just 3 sixes its the timing of when he hit the sixes and to whom he did it and his natural game is like this so he's worthy for t20 format least.

he is talking about PSL 3 specifically.......and even if we take all three seasons we hardly got few batsman and 100s of world class bowlers

To some extend i agree with Arthur, as we didnt see any of the newcomer batsman performing thru out PSL3, But again one cant Judge a batsman's skill from a games of T20 as all you need is to be a good power hitter, Asif Ali hit the ball 3 times outta ground & that also against Hassan Ali when it mattered the most, thats all one needs in T20..... i think Hussain Talat & Agha Salman are also good ......they need to be worked on thou

The reason why isb united won is that each player of the team was assigned a role which he completely kbew and understood.I remember Bilal asif has already made his debut for Pakistan he seemed ordinary back when he opened.I think this position suits him
