Protests Spread To Saudi Arabia

While the biggest threat to the Middle East region is the possibility that the population of Saudi Arabia may try to imitate what has been happening in the area, thereby bringing total chaos to the established regional geopolitical and more importantly, energy, structure, the first protests in the Saudi Arabia city of Jeddah are already in the books. The clip below shows the peaceful demonstrations that have taken place recently, which as Fedupmontrealer explains are "taking place in front of the Municipality in protest of the severe lack of infrastructure, and corruption, that led the city to be inundated this week causing billions of dollars of damages for the second time in two years." That this is even occurring in a state where the average wealth is orders of magnitude greater than in Egypt is remarkable. On the other hand, we expect more news such as those from yeserday that Kuwait is paying its citizens $3,500 plus free food for a year to keep calm. Oddly, visions of money dropping helicopters, infinitely extendable unemployment insurance and tax breaks keep dancing in our head. Those who wish to follows the latest developments out of Jedda which appears could be the lightning rod for Saudi riots can do so by tracking #JeddahProtests on Twitter.

Pro-USA regimes are falling! Now is time for China and Russia to join together and bring all the anti-USA regimes into a massive military alliance.

India of course will be on the other side of the conflict -- Hindu civilization against Islamic civilization and Confucian civilization.

Watch your own backyard. I suggest that you tell your Comrade Chairman to start warming up the tank engines. This is a global freedom protest. "Hindu civilisation" still offers freedom to its peoples :coffee:

China still does not provide full freedom of religion, so if there is a "clash of civilisations" after the USSR, China will be next so be careful what you wish for.

And what can China offer these ME protesters other than 'Death to America' signs? A pro-China communist regime?

Egypt changes will impact Pakistan: Report
Islamabad: The consequences of the changes in Egypt will "inevitably impact us", a Pakistani daily said on Monday, adding this will serve as a "stark lesson as to what happens when rulers fail to hear the voices and heed the wishes of those they rule".

An editorial in the News International said the events in Egypt "are moving at a pace faster than the global diplomatic community is able to keep pace with".

It said the actions of President Hosni Mubarak have done "nothing to quell the anger of the crowds calling for his ouster".

Observing that the police have "mostly left the scene everywhere”, the editorial said "the Army appears to be taking a role that is less than proactive but not actively pro the demonstrators".

The editorial said, "Thus far the protests have been secular rather than driven by religious fervour..."

"There seems little doubt that, revolution or not, the days of President Mubarak are numbered. Politically, the military have been the guarantors of every regime since 1952, and former prominent members of the military have found places in every civil administration."

"Now, with the political infrastructure crumbling, the Army may have to assume responsibility for the state, and with the state under Mubarak being the fuel of unrest, it is doubtful that the Army is going to continue to support him."

The News International went on to say that Israel will be viewing "events with concern, and wondering if the relative ‘stability' that has characterised the region since 1978 is at risk - and unless the situation is swiftly brought ‘under control', this is a possibility".

Noting that Egypt is a "pivotal" Arab state, and an engine of change in the Arab world, it said: "The consequences of those changes will inevitably impact upon us, and already serve as a stark lesson as to what happens when rulers fail to hear the voices and heed the wishes of those they rule."

He meant the puppets of America are crumbling. It is not democracy that is running Egypt, it is a dictatorship backed by the US. Hence these people are protesting and even defying the curfew that was imposed upon them, leading to bloody battles across the country.

And what can China offer these ME protesters other than 'Death to America' signs? A pro-China communist regime?

China will just offer them America I guess ;)
