Problem with Pakistani fans!

Breaking your T.V,abusing, accusing them of being fixers etc if this is not irresponsible behavior i don't know what is.

Germany had sent its 747 to pick german soccer team regardless if they won world cup or not.

Of course I want Pakistan to win all games, but to use trash language or to make extremely stupud comments like syedali that these players are paid through tax payers is overboard.

This is understandable reaction. We don't approve of it but it is expected. At any rate, there are noytmany who would destroy their TV screens or what not.

BTW, this reaction is not restricted to Pakistani fans alone:

Better team wins

WI also had problems with management and its selection has been questionable so much. They even lost to Ireland. But did their fans treat WI like we treat our team?

.
In India its worse..

They break into players home or throw stones.
Whoop:lol:
Pakistani team is not balanced SO as few other like India and W.indies and they both play much better than us. I blame entire situation in Pakistan very bad environment for players to focus like normal world.

I was pointing at being a little more realistic.

Your arguments are valid but you are missing a very important issue with modern sports - Marketing.

A lot of sponsors invest tonnes of money on a single match. The ads you watch between overs each cost crores, to give an estimate IPL is worth thousands of crores. So why is this important? Because sponsors need to hype up the pre-match excitement to ensure maximum number of viewers. The more viewers the more returns on investment for the sponsors.

In the 2015 WC match all tickets for the stadium were sold out 4 days before. A total of ONE BILLION - that is 1/5th of ENTIRE human population - watched the match in stadium and TV. All this is thanks to the hype of an India-Pakistan match played in a WC. Irrespective of who won or who loss the sponsors minted money. And to ensure the same level of audience interest the sponsors ensure that every match is hyped up to ridiculous extent just to create a fan frenzy, this results in the team bogged down by pressure.

This is not a wild media conspiracy theory, it is a simple fact. Nobody would bother watching UAE play against Zimbabwe hence the sponsors+money attracted would be minimum. ICC/Cricket needs money and investors/sponsors need a huge audience for their returns. Hence all the ads, media hype and the buzz of excitement which creates pressure.

A fan is affected by this pressure as much as the player. They buy the hype and believe their team is invincible, reality check comes in when their team faces a humiliating defeat and a disillusioned fan needs to vent out his frustration. It happened when India made a first round exit in 2007 and lost the 2014 T20 WC final, it happened with Pakistan multiple times and also happening right now.

This one reason. That Muka ad was fun but it irked so many sensitive Pakistanis, as if India declared war on us.

it's just an effin game.

That's right. The mauka ad was made by the sports channel broadcasting the games, so they want audiences any way they can attract.

India-Pakistan matches are always over-hyped to irrational proportions. The media, advertisers pretend like it is the start of third world war when in reality it is just a cricket match. Media blitz affects everyone, the players feel the enormous pressure of living up to fans' expectations and the fans believe their teams are invincible. All these hyped up emotions result in extreme reactions like vandalism, public protest, breaking TV sets, death threats, hurling abuses all over a simple game of cricket.

P.S. - Ads should be taken as ads. The mauka ad was funny without insulting Pakistan so I don't know why so many Pakistanis felt offended. Even for the upcoming India vs SA match the mauka ad now targets India saying the country lost all three matches in the WC.

Its a f-king ad for God's sake. No need to get so mad and angry.

have you seen the south Africa vs India ads
its the same concept but roles have reversed

Which brings to conclusion and agrees with op, that pakistani fans needs to be more mature.

India can take a joke on itself (muka) but pakistani fans will kill if india uses such ad.

We're partially the reason for our own downfall. There is a video and fans are calling players really bad words. if that was me, id not be able to play properly for days to come. Players are human and emotional. Calling one sister (you know) doesn't make them play better or so they resign.

We weren't the favorites to win wc or even semi. Not sure why pakistani fans have to "cry" over the losses. WI equally has bad squad and its management is awful, but their fans are so much more mature than pakistani fans. They lost to ireland, it wasn't a big deal as we losing to wi (of course we haven't played ireland yet, but it doesn't mean we start to bash early)

Excellent post, this is exactly what w was trying to say, thank you.

and indians enjoy it and i did too.

But that pak vs india muka, oh man, did you read the reaction about it? India got what it wanted.

Must say that these "Mauka class" ad made me watch not only that match but rekindled the interest in WC. must commend the marketing team of Star Sports.

Put in your OP then:

WI have bad management and bad squad. They lost to ireland (not full member) but they weren't treated so badly as when we lost to WI (full member). This speaks about how emotionally challenged pakistanis are compared to other nation, who also seem to be facing similar problem. Example, England. 100/3 to 123 all out, but English fans didn't abuse its team the way we did.

anyways

Teams have up and down. We whitewash australia when we didn't think of it. It was same management, same younis, same misbah. When we win, balay team balay management. Lose one game "misbah should die, afridi should die" and one fan who has personal problem with sethi and nawaz who wants to take him to court (funny that guy pays no tax and can take sethi to court but too much of a coward to live in pakistan and hides in malaysia)

Must say that these "Mauka class" ad made me watch not only that match but rekindled the interest in WC. must commend the marketing team of Star Sports.
that was the point. and you can't blame them, marketing is supposed to do marketing. It was targeted mostly to indians until pakistani media picked on it and further did free marketing. it was big win for star sports.

You are simply elaborating the point me and @WishLivePak made, some of our 'fans' are very irresponsible.
I forgot to mention, part of the problem of the fans is... well, read my signature. This is actually what one member said here.

Pak team is tax payers paid, shahid afridi is tax khoor, they're all our servants and we pay them to "entertain" us.

Nach mere bilo, tujhe pasa milay ga.

If it's entertainment, it can be either in form of loss or win.

One reason why the sub-continent is so passionate about cricket is the lack of world class athletes. I know this answer will rattle a lot of people but it is a bitter truth.

When we talk about sports in south Asia then the first thing that comes to mind is cricket, a sport played by barely 11 countries. In sports like soccer we don't even exist. In Olympic we start from the bottom of the table. The south Asian region does not have any world-famous athlete. West Indies has Usain Bolt, Australia has Ian Thorpe, both Olympic legends and world famous. Cricket is the only sport where we all excel and can beam with pride.

Cricket is a religion in south Asia, the region's only claim to global fame. Thus when players fail then the nationalist pride takes a hit. You cannot analyse a match as only a match in South Asia. A game is not won or lost here but many emotions are attached and the aggressive marketing only increases the pressure.
