The presidents wife is not a Government employee so has to pay and not be a burden on state funds. It's only the Sharifs and Bhutto's who had flouted all laws and used tax payers money to pay for family members.
No company would pay for an employees wife if he took her on a business trip.

Also standing in a queue seems to be something new for Pakistanis. In nearly every place I've experienced in Pakistan people just jump the queue and don't see any problem with it. Arif Alvi is setting an example that even high level people should respect other citizens and not jump past them.

Those questioning this are obviously of the mentality that a higher up person should do as they please. Sad state of affairs when people are conditioned to think like this.

What incentive would people have to serve in government when you are asking them to pay 40k rupees for ticket when they are obligated to go? They should have some perks, instead of rolling around like beggars. Albeit, they should not go first class or in luxury, but these types of things make your own serving officials look bad.

President is commander in chief of a nuclear power state. He should be traveling by his own jet not some commercial airline, that too of some foreign airline. And he should dress gracefully, not like some poor biker wearing a wind breaker jacket.

The President's wife shouldn't have to pay for her ticket - I think Pakistani law permits for the government to pay for the spouse's travel expenses. The fact that they are taking a commercial flight alone was enough for 'Naya Pakistan'.

Also - why the hell is the President queuing up and going through all these checks!? I don't agree with this. He is the President of Pakistan, technically the head of the state! His office demands respect and VVIP protocol even if a snake like Zardari was in office. He should not be queing up, and should most definitely not be searched like a commoner.

He is a commoner. Just like you and I. He will have to que for his turn on the day of judgement just like you and I. He will not get special vvip entry to jannah.

Well President / Prime Minister and all Member of Parliament their main job is to serve people not ride in Fancy Jets and Protocols

In Pakistan every one has to have connection with someone at top in order to feel part of society and this will now change

The politicians needed to show their protocol car figures to show case how "Important" figure they are

Police or traffic police stops anyone and drivers start threatening the police or traffic warden
That any Traffic ticket will mean the officer will get fined or suspended form his job

Same people was mocking ex prime minister abbasi when he went through a routine security check at a US airport just like common man and people was telling him that there are certain protocols when he is representing 22 crore Pakistani
