KARACHI: Amid the ongoing political hullabaloo, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has decided to swing into election mode in December, this year. According to sources, the party will be open to making electoral alliances with everyone, everywhere except Sindh, the powerhouse of the PPP.

Sources close to the PPP leadership told The Express Tribune that the party has decided to launch its election campaign from December 2017, with a show of power in Larkana on December 27 – the 10th death anniversary of its slain leader Benazir Bhutto.

Bilawal sees rout of PTI in 2018 elections

PPP will form electoral alliances with like-minded parties anywhere in Pakistan except Sindh, they said.

At least five committees will be formed at the national and provincial levels to oversee the election campaign. Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will lead the election campaign, while Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari will take care of the remaining political issues, they added.

A ‘national electoral alliance’ will be made against Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which emerged as the second most popular political force in the country, eclipsing the PPP, during the last elections, said sources.

This alliance will then be extended to other provinces, as most of the PPP politicians who jumped ship recently have joined PTI.

According to sources, the PPP will cobble together the committees, comprising senior party leaders, to reach out to like-minded parties.

In the meantime, however, the party will continue its politics of reconciliation with the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) and other political forces on matters related to national issues, legislation and the strengthening of parliament.

Party strategies for 2018 general elections leaked

They confirmed that the PPP will not shy away from joining hands with its political arch-nemesis, MQM-Pakistan, to scuttle any attempt by rival parties to form a grand alliance.

A law to empower local governments in a bid to woo the Farooq Sattar-led MQM-Pakistan is also on the table, the sources added.

If no legal challenge or technical glitch arise, the party of the Bhutto family, registered with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) as PPP-Parliamentarians, will also contest the 2018 parliamentary polls as PPP using its old election symbol of the ‘arrow’.

In case of legal hiccups, the party will contest the elections from the platform of PPP-Parliamentarians, sources claimed further.

Lol

Kiya maut key kuyen me gaadi chalani ha

. . . .
Alliance will.be ppp+pmln+fazul rehman party againt PTI+ jamat islami + mqm

. .
MQM will join with the other haramis and I think Ji may stand independent of both in the false hope they will gain more seats.
MQM is driving force and with PTI, the combination will be deadlier and its mean that bye bye to PPP and PMLN. Both parties are of educated peoples now and if both combine then only PTI will have chance to form Govt. Mark my word. Karachi is very strong point for any political party and Karachi is lifeline of Pakistani polities and that is why everyone is trying to control Karachi by any mean

By the time election will be held, mqm will be further divided in to more. So let's see, PTI said they were bashing mqm beause of Altaf and MQM can not be with PPP anymore. Let's see.

PTI should win in KPK, Karachi, and Punjab’s urban centers. That can be the best possible result for PTI

But their chances of forming the government will still be less than 50%

Unless Nawaz and Maryam get prosecuted by NAB for their crimes. Then PTI might have a shot at forming its own governmental alliance

PMLN will only win infact only remain intact if shahbaz sharif is running for PM next time.... Nawaz will never get cleared and Maryam is just too dumb... no body will vote for her

PPP has extremely slim chance of forming even next provincial government in Sindh if MQM-P and PTI goes into an alliance.

If the above alliance materializes sizeable number of current PPP MNAs/MPAs for example from Ghotki, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Badin and even Nawabshah will switch sides not because of love for PTI but because of practicality.

PPP in KPK has no chance even if it gets into an alliance with PMLN, and similarly PPP in Punjab has no chance as it has lost the space to PTI for anti PMLN votes. PPP has better chance in few pockets of southern Punjab seats; primarily due to Gilani clan (Multan) and Mahkdoom Syed Ahmed Mahmood (RYK) rest of the southern Punjab will also go with the party who has favourable “winds” let’s see if PTI can get that snatched from PMLN. Northern and Central Punjab PPP is absolutely finished. They have been out of electoral power game (MPA/MNA) for far too long to make a comeback as well as it doesn’t have leaders in both Central nor Northern Punjab to mobilize voters like it can in pockets of Southern Punjab.

With above two (KPK, and Punjab) written off for PPP, Sindh slipping away (just see what’s coming in Dec/Jan) the fourth; Balochistan has its own dynamics and they will go with whoever forms the Fed Govt.,

As one of the members has pointed out above; if MQM-P and PTI form alliance - I predict PPP will not be able to get what it got in 2013. Not a chance of it happening, specially what’s going to happen to it in December in Punjab - my sincere advice to Bilawal; sell his Bilawal House in Lahore; he’ll be too lonely there ...come 2018!

Everybody trying to form alliance against PTI because they know if PTI comes to power people of Pakistan will win.
oh come on. PTI is also part of same corrupt political system.

PPP Lacks a leader to be trusted.
They even dont have anything new to offer except "BHUTTO ZINDA HA".

. .
Mullahs are getting united too as elections are coming, so they can sell their seats to whoever wins.
Idiots are the people, who vote based on sect. alignments.
Which also explains the ghost voters of PPP.
