All Pakistanis particularly living in Western countries or outside Pakistan,

What was your experience like after the raid in Abbotabad and the alleged assassination of OBL? Did people (your peers, particularly western peers) view you differently or ask questions?

I am just curious to know how as Pakistani individuals if you experienced things differently if at all. Did you feel you were getting more attention? Feel bad *** at all?

I'll start, one funny thing happened, a lady that I know asked me why did they have to name the city "Abbotabad", because her last name is Abbott, quite funny. I think some people were being mindful and thought lets not bring this up it could be considered offensive or too sharp. Others brought it up more indirectly, but I didn't mind as I saw it as an opportunity to give a Pakistani perspective on the event.

Well what was your personal experience especially living in Saudi Arabia, OBL's home country.

I already told you - big time embarrassment.... Most of the educated Saudis particularly western educated one which are rife in my social circle neither like the clergy nor the monarchy..and OBL being discovered in Pakistan was a total embarrassment but thankfully ever one shot their blame arrows in the direction of House of Saud and actually sympathized with Pakistan and Afghanistan condition of today due to religious bigotry.

And regarding the westerners - well never mind.."we told you so"....

Well thats what I wanted to know is what and how did Saudis think about it, afterall OBL is a Saudi by birth and nationality.

Well. Not anything of that sort happened. Some Indians tried to show their delight on this 'National Shame' as somebozo said. But others, Indians and Pakistani, they were in the impression of everything being a ridiculous drama.

Pakistan Air Force was put to shame though, by the peers and seniors, asking me 'Ye hai tumhari air force, jo 2 helicopter bhi nai detect ker saki girana tou door ki bat hai' and I was to face similar question on 'my Air Force'. I, ofcourse, replied back firmly and neutralized their, if any, negative views.

At that day, I defend Pakistan, I could explain the best I can. I mentioned, there was no body proof of OBL just like Saddam bought to International Court witness. They don't have comment.

OBL just one figurehead and Afghanistan/Pakistan borders issues, you can't blame Pakistan. Nothing bad, still respect Pakistan today.

Radar was not working properly due to some functions problems, this statments made by PAF officials after raids, it was outrage stupid statments.

LH, you live in Pakistan surrounded by Pakistanis I'm sure your personal experience wasn't all that uncomfortable.

all my british friends were highly suspicious and unimpressed by american.claims.

I believe that the PNS Mehran was as embarassing an incident as Abbotabad if not more. To enter into a naval military base, killing 18 military officials for over 16 hours by Talibani jihadists and blowing up billion-dollar equipment was simply a failure bigger than any other recently experienced by Pakistan.

Interesting to know Brits were suspicious of the operation. I thought they would follow the line. In the US it seemed like many people did not question whether the claim was true or not, the President said it happened so it did happen. As you know major celebrations broke out in cities across the country. Though there is a significant number of Americans who question the official story and requesting evidence.

I am in Riyadh, KSA.

A friend, who went to Islamabad for a little break, was living with his brother, a Brigadier in ISI. They both attended a wedding the night, and at 2am arrived in the office. Due to the load of the work, they didn't bother to go home and slept in the office and at 6am the 'alarms' rang in the HQ about the 'OBL' raid. Everyone was quick on their feet...I have said too much now... :)

Well, we didn't lose anything in both Abottobad and Navy base, I agree it just wrong location in PNS Mehran place which is easier for foreign chechan terrorists. Afterall, it was just experiences for Pakistan to learn lesson to improve security of all bases. The failure is we don't know the data history on terrorists where they are coming from or records. Yes, embarrassment moments but not make same mistake again.

You are Indians invalid to this thread, please only Pakistani perspectives. Namaste.
