CAGLIARI: Pope Francis has led several thousand people in a special prayer for the victims of the church attack in Pakistan.

Francis was wrapping up a daylong visit to Sardinia on Sunday when he took the microphone and told throngs of young people about the scale of the attack in Peshawar.

He said those who carried out the attack ''took the wrong choice, one of hatred and war.''

He urged the young Sardinians present to instead work for peace, a message he has repeated in recent weeks amid escalating tensions in Syria.

Sunday's suicide bombing outside the historic All Saints church killed dozens in the deadliest-ever attack on Pakistan's Christian minority, officials said.

Of course he is the Pope. He would speak if Christians get targeted specifically as it was attack near a CHURCH. If he was a political leader he would make statements more often even regarding Pakistan war.

if we as a nation, wasnt was waiting for the dam peace talking, & were fighting terror, it is highly possible that, today this act of terorism wouldnt have happened, & no pope had said that?
we also need to select, fighting to end that terrorism, which is killing us slowly but not peace talks?

Quite likely, and not. The intent was to kill Christians and Christians alone without them being qualified as Pakistanis. Yet, the motive given to the attackers would not be to kill in revenge but simply kill. The attack will however be interpreted, defended by certain individuals(both pseudo-militant and political) as revenge for Muslim deaths.
Even now, the attack has not been condemned to the same degree by those in the Islamic parties and by certain elements who are/were part of the ruling parties( PML(N), PTI, ANP). Some have not done so due to fear of their lives, others simply because they share the vision(or rather their profit in the fulfilment of it) of the terrorist forces.
