Since the matter has put the country into political turmoil for over 90 days now..

govt failing to negotiate a settlement with the opposition party.

my Q is what is stopping Nawaz to conduct a probe into Election rigging allegation?

isnt it a just and fair thing that conduct a probe through independent Judicial commission and punish those who were involved in rigging?

what fears Nawaz that stops him from probing the election rigging?

. .
Please keep in mind Article 225 of the Constitution:

225 Election dispute.
No election to a House or a Provincial Assembly shall be called in question except by an election petition presented to such tribunal and in such manner as may be determined by Act of Parliament.

so parliament is empowered to initiate a probe. thanks.

Of course. Let the Parliament vote and pass the appropriate legal measure to probe the elections if there is enough support on the floor.

a parliament wont initiate a probe against itself. how can a thief initiate such, only if they were not guilty, they would have agreed to probe.

hence SC is absolutely empowered to address a Question that doesnot have an answer in the constitution and ask Prime minister what is stopping him from taking the right legal course to solve the political turmoil.

The SC cannot violate Article 225.

Its SC, and its not violating article 225. it is fully empowered body to address any laws. thats why its called Supreme Court, where constitutional matters are discussed. clearly the issue at hand cannot be solved through art 225 and hence a petitioner has the right to reach out the SC for a remedy.

if I am not guilty, I would happily ask for a probe, so that my opponent is defeated.

but here we have a situation where govt is unwilling to start probe.

They will bribe their way through this again. Just slip in a few hundred thousand Rupees in the pockets of greedy politicians and judges.

Then they should. atleast they would be proven right.. whats the point of locking heads?

Of course the SC has to adjudicate any petition it accepts, but only according to the law as laid down in the Constitution. Let's see what the SC does in view of these developments.
